What Is the International Food Information Council Foundation?
The International Food Information Council (IFIC) Foundation is a nonprofit foundation designed to enhance consumers’ abilities to make informed food choices by developing and supporting informational and educational programs on food safety, nutrition, and health. The Foundation is affiliated with the In- ternational Food Information Council, a nonprofit association supported by the food and beverage in- dustry.
What Is the IFlC Foundation On-Line?
The IFIC Foundation On-Line is a World Wide Web site on the Internet that combines colorful graphics and text to provide information about food safety and nutrition topics. In the future, some topic areas will also include audio segments.
What Information Is Currently Available?
The site provides access, free of charge, to all IFIC Foundation publications, including the Foundation’s bimonthly newsletter, Food Insight. Using special screens and menus designed for journalists, health professionals, educators, parents, or consumers, users can access the latest information on food safe- ty and nutrition, including food technologies, spe- cific ingredients, and general nutrition guidance. The site also allows users to order hard copies of publications and videos or to E-mail the IFIC Foun- dation.
Accessing the IFlC Foundation On-Line
Depending on how a user accesses the Internet, there are two basic ways to reach the IFIC Foun- dation site.

2. A second way to access IFIC Foundation On- Line is via Gopher, at:

When I Reach the Site, How Do I Navigate Through the Information?
WWW: IFIC Foundation On-Line opens with a home page that has the IFIC Foundation logo and a “Welcome” greeting. Just below the greeting and a notice of new publications is a main menu with options that lead to information on specific topics of interest. Just click on the icon that interests you.
