The Iconic Footwear of All Times
The UGG boots are iconic footwear made in the 1960s that originated from Australia and New
Zealand. The boots are unisex and made from sheepskin. The boot is made from the skin of a
sheep with the fleece turned inside. The first step in making the boot is tanning the skin into
leather and assembling it. To add on to comfort, some UGG boots are made with a sole which is
synthetically made from ethylene-vinyl acetate which is soft and flexible. In the assembly point,
the UGG boots are stitched on the outside which is not the case with conventional footwear
thereby giving them a comfortable feel.
On the other hand, the fleece being on the inside has various benefits that include insulation and
is other mic properties. This keeps the feet warm in cold weather and reduces heat loss. In
addition, the fleece fibers ensure proper circulation of air within the boot and also help in
wicking moisture. These makes them ideal as they can be worn both in cold and warm
environments. Another benefit of having these kind of boots is the durability and practicality they
come along with.
For fashion lovers, they can be worn with any type of clothes, be it dresses or trousers.
Furthermore, the sheepskin is very durable and tough require very little washing. Talking about
color, the UGG boots comes in a number of classic designer colors that include fuchsia, blue,
black, pink and chestnut. Regarding the height of the boots, they come in a variety and range
from the ankle and all the way to the knee level. Furthermore, there are additional designs that
include lace-up and pull-ons.
Alternatively in recent years, the boots have been made from the skin of other animals that
include kangaroo fur and livestock leather. In recent years, some shoe industry players have also
made synthetic boots although they are termed as fake. Although they are not original UGG
boots they are appealing due to their lower prices but cannot match the quality of the original
product.
In conclusion, the boots since their inception from surfing era have become a historical designer
trend. Their appealing look and practicality have seen them in fashion runways all over the world
and are being passed from one generation to another. Despite their popularity, there has been
criticism especially about animal rights which the skin is gotten from. The demand for the skin is
higher than supply, but that has not made the footwear unpopular but continues to grow in
popularity.
