Define Photography:

• Greek: photos (light) and graphein (to draw)

• First used by scientist Sir John F.W. Herschel (1839)

• Method of recording images by the action of light, or related radiation on a sensitive material.

• Invented by Alhazen (Ibn Al-Haytham) around 1000 AD.

• The first name was pinhole camera.

• Pictures were upside down.

• George Eastman was an avid photographer and founder of Eastman Kodak Company.

• It was founded in 1888.

Digital Photography

• The basic principle of photography is a camera sees an object because of the light which is reflected off it and into the camera’s lens. The lens of the camera is used to channel this light onto a plane, where it can be recorded and a photo created by one way or the other.
