Growth Time Chart of Hair Transplant Patients

First week The patient can feel the pain within the first 24 hours. However, don’t get upset because it is completely tolerable with the help of the effective prescribed medicine. Usually, the patients experience mild to moderate kind of a swelling on the scalp and upper eyelid area. Remember, the swelling usually at its peaks in just 48 hours. After that, the scabs will develop around the transplanted hair grafts starting on the first or second day and will be present for seven to 10 days. Redness or inflammation will be experienced around the newly transplanted area.

Second Week If the patient is carefully following all the instructions carefully, the scabs and its stains will now be coming off. Now, all the scabs should be disappeared by the end of the second week of the surgery. New stubbles of hair will appear in that area once they occupied by the itchy scabs. Inflammation around the newly transplanted area will now decrease and it will into a slight pinkish color. The stitches will be removed most probably after the second week.

Three Week At this time, the newly transplanted hair may begin to shed. The hair grafts enter a short-term dormant phase. And at the end of third or fourth week of surgery, most of the newly implanted hair may have fallen out. Due to this, some hair transplant patient may experience the severe "hair shock", but don’t worry, it is quite normal.

1-3 Months Within this period, the hair transplant patients will experience different degrees of hair growth. Some patients will notice new stubbles growing within the second month. Most of the patients will experience new hair growth in the third month after surgery. At the beginning time, the newly grow hair is thin and fine. However, the hair will thicken with the passage of time.

4-6 Months During this period, your hair should be growing properly. The new growth of hair should be around 1 to 3 inches in length. However, the hair shaft on the scalp will now be thicker. Now, the patients are now able to do some sort of styling with the new hair.

7-10 Months The patients now feel-free to adopt any sort of a new hair style. The new hair will now be thicker and longer. The overall look will show the good hair density and texture better than before.

12-14 Months The patients are now experiencing the highest positive effect of hair transplant surgery. The majority of the patients has experienced a number of usual hair cuts already and loves their hair texture and loves their new hairstyle. The ultimate outcome is the form of natural growing hair.
