Registration – 6:30am
Registration and rider sign-on will be conducted in the canteen area near the
velodrome. Please ensure that all riders have a hard copy of their valid Cycling
Australia race licence. All licences will be kept at registration until the return of
race numbers at the end of competition and approval of the Chief
Commissaire.

Stage 1 - Prologue – lower back, centre
Stage 2 - Criterium – ribs, right side

Please note that your number must be visible to the commissaires at the
start/finish line.
Rollout – 6:50am
Rollout will be conducted up near the criterium circuit. All riders are to present
to rollout well before the commencement of their prologue, with their bike
and helmet(s). Only registered riders who have already signed-on will be
allowed to rollout.
All riders who place in the Top 4 of Stages 2 and 3 must present immediately to
rollout at the end of their race (criterium and/or road race).

Road Race Circuits Please note that the U9s and U11s Road Races will be conducted on the small
circuit only. U13s will race over the small circuit with the exception of their
final 2 laps, which will be completed over the full, long circuit. U15s and U17s
will race over the full, long circuit. All races will be in an anti-clockwise
direction. Remember to swap your race number to your left ribs.

General Classification The Gold Coast Junior Tour General Classification (GC) will be run on time. The
person who completes the three stages – prologue, criterium and road race –
in the shortest amount of time will win the Tour.
Bonus seconds will be awarded (deducted from athletes’ overall times) based
on their placings in the criterium and road race, as follows:
1st
– 10 seconds
2nd
– 8 seconds
3rd
– 6 seconds
4th
– 2 seconds
There will be no KOM/QOM or intermediate sprints. Bonus points will be
awarded only on the final stage result.
U9 – U17 Tour Winners will receive a Tour Winner’s jersey, made possible by
the generosity of our sponsors.

National Junior Road Series
Established by Cycling Australia in 2018, the National Junior Road Series (NJRS)
initiative seeks to:
• Create media interest in junior racing
• Develop rider excitement throughout the year
• Provide a calendar of events which are of high interest to participants
• To raise the standard of junior events
• Increase commercial investment into junior cycling
The Gold Coast Junior Tour is the 1st
of 2 Queensland NJRS events in 2019.
Categories run are U15 Men, U15 Women, U17 Men and U17 Women.
Points will be awarded for each event in the series as follows system:

State Leader’s Jersey The state leader’s jersey will only be awarded to the leading rider of the state who competes at their home events. A rider who has points gained interstate will only have those points counted to the overall series. State leaders’ jerseys are to acknowledge achievements in the riders’ home state and are presented at the state events by organisers. Overall Series The 2019 NJRS allows riders to accumulate points from their best 2 results in the series and from the Australian Junior Road Championships. Riders who are leading the NJRS for their category will be awarded a series leader’s jersey for their state. They must wear the series leader’s jersey at any future NJRS events (excluding the Australian Junior Road National Championships). Riders may be refused a start in that race if they fail to wear the leader jersey. Riders must be at presentation to collect their jersey.

Prize Table Draw
At the Gold Coast Junior Tour, no competitors leave empty-handed, as long as
they stay around until the prize table draw, which is accessed via a raffle after
the final tour presentations.
All competitors’ names will be placed in the draw and picked at random.
