IntroductionAt The Goat Dairy, our vision is to produce nutritious goat dairy products in harmony with the environment as a working model from which to train and empower Grenadian farmers in achieving independent, dignified livelihoods in sustainable agriculture. Through a complementary youth training program, we further seek to instill the values of healthful nutrition and local food production for future generations of Grenadian farmers.
Business Model (Purpose & Why)
• The Goat Dairy was established as a non-profit business model to support and empower local farmers, women and youth of Grenada by providing a living example and a central training facility with high standards for goat dairy farming and production.
• Designed to be self sustainable long-term by the distribution of locally produced quality goat dairy products
• Secure healthy nutritious food for individuals and the local market and create jobs
• Environmental impacts: reduce the carbon footprint of imports, compost organic matter, catch and recycle water
• Why goats? perfect for a small topographically challenging island & goat milk is a healthy choice
