Dear Parents,
What an exciting week this has been! Your Administrativeteam traveled to the Southern Union Conference Office toaccept our EDGE "School of Excellence" award. What anhonor it was to receive this most prestigious award onbehalf of our students, parents, faculty and staff.
We must keep in mind that receiving this award does notmean that we have reached our goal. As a school ofexcellence, we continually strive to provide a superioreducation for our students.
We must remember that this goal can only be achievedthrough prayer and a commitment to Christian education. Our teachers and staff are not only working to provide thehighest quality education for our precious young ones; weare committed to providing the highest quality Christianeducation.
The Lord has truly blessed FLEC in every way! As welook forward to a new school year, we solicit your prayersand continued support.
Blessings,Janet Ledesma
"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young menstumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD willrenew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not befaint." Isaiah 40:31, 32

BELIEVE IN THE POWER!
It was a team effort during the 11th Annual Miriam Kittrel 5K for Christian Education. Over 450 students, teachers, parents and thecommunity members came out to support FLEC’s worthy student fund raiser.
The race, which was held in conjunction with the Believe In the Power Weekend, helps to ensure Adventist Education opportunities areopen to anyone no matter their financial situation.
“I enjoyed the camaraderie that was felt during the event,” said Jeff Williamson, FLEC parent. “My entire family looks forward to the 5Kevery year. We love the spirit in the air.”
The 5K is supported by corporate sponsors, student sponsorships and race-day funds. Thank you to our major sponsors including theKittrell family, Beckner family, Huffman family, Florida Hospital Altamonte, CentraCare, Essential Health, Tuxedo Corn, Scott family,Will-Yums Onions, Carrazana family, the Keller family and the Villemain family.
“The amount of support our community gives to those who need it is so amazing to me,” said Lynn Evans-Williams. “My heart if full ofgratitude for the opportunity to send my children to FLEC through the worthy student fund. I know their lives are changed because ofAdventist education.”

DEVELOPMENT REPORT
As an ongoing, important piece in our fund-raising efforts for the school and the new classroom building, we produce a weekly video clipspotlighting good things happening at our school or sharing some educational advantages our students have because they attend FLEC.
Each week we post these at www.youtube.com/myflec. Have you seen them? Please take advantage of these interesting clips availablefor you. Watch them, be proud of your school and your children and then share them with friends who might be looking for a good school
for their children. We think these video clips could help make a difference in their decision.
Then, let us know what you think. Maybe you have an idea of a program we should film. Maybe you know of something we could do tomake FLEC a better school. Maybe you have an idea for a fundraiser that will help us accomplish our goal for the new classroombuilding. Please talk to us – let us know that someone out there is reading this!
Give me a call: Dan Tilstra, 269-208-1111 or email [email protected]. I’m always ready to listen.
