Greetings! I hope that your week is going well. Can you believe that we have 7 weeks or 35 school days or 245 academic hours of school left, and the 2009-2010 school year will be behind us? I can hear the hallelujahs now! Praise God for being with us every step of the way. This week I re-read one of my favorite books, Fresh Power by Jim Cymbala. The theme of this book expresses the importance of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing that if one is filled with the Holy Spirit, he or she will accomplish GREAT things through Christ. Just look at the life of Peter and what he was able to accomplish because he was “filled” with the Holy Spirit. It is my sincere desire that the Holy Spirit be here on our campus at FLEC everyday. I know that if God’s Spirit is present, it will: give us life (John 7:38), give us counsel (John 14:26), encourage us (Acts 9:31), build us up (Romans 8:27), and lead us to obedience (2 Corinthians 3:5). I know that with the presence of God in the lives of our young people, they too will accomplish GREAT things. As this school year is winding down, I ask that you join me in praying daily for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit onto the campus of FLEC and into the hearts of all our faculty, staff, students, and families. DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Recently, we had the privilege of holding a reception in the home of a couple who have become financial partners with FLEC in ourbuilding campaign. They invited a group of their friends to their home to hear about the project and why they believe in supporting FLEC.

We had a nice evening of refreshments and conversation, then, we gathered in the family room where pictures of the New School weredisplayed on easels. Our host gave a short testimony as to why he believed in FLEC, and Christian Education, then, he introduced ourboard chair, and principal and encouraged his friends to listen to the information about the project and consider becoming involved as heand his wife had.

Mrs. Ledesma and Mrs. Beckner gave short, stirring talks, the guests asked many questions, and the evening was over. It was adelightful evening: FLEC provided the food, our donors provided the home, and the guests provided the feedback.

It’s a simple formula and a fantastic way to connect with more people in the community and build support for our project. Maybe one ofyou reading this could host an evening for FLEC. All of you have circles of friends that you could help FLEC connect with. Considerdoing one and we’ll help make it fun and easy!

Give me a call: Dan Tilstra, 269-208-1111 or email [email protected]. I’m always ready to listen.
