A documentary about the unlikely

career of Harris Glen Milstead and

his iconic alter-ego Divine. The film

chronicles Glen’s early days as a

misfit youth in Baltimore through

his rise to infamy as a cult superstar.

The film combines rare film clips, live

performance footage and brand new

interviews with the likes of filmmaker

John Waters.

This special compilation from the

BFI National Archive recreates the

glorious miscellany of comedies,

dramas, travelogues and newsreels

which would have constituted a typical

night out in 1914, including a comic

short about a face-pulling competition,

a sensational episode of The Perils

of Pauline, scenes of Allied troops

celebrating Christmas at the Front, and

an early sighting of one of cinema’s

greatest icons.

Joe Ransom is a hot-tempered ex-

convict who is employed by a lumber

vicious alcoholic father. Recognising

Gary’s desperation, Joe becomes his

mentor and ultimately protector.

bittersweet story behind the discovery

of the most complete T-Rex fossil

ever found. When palaeontologist

Peter Larson and his team made

government, powerful museums and

competing palaeontologists, they

found themselves not only fighting to

keep their dinosaur but also for their

freedom.

between them is difficult especially as

Richard must disguise the nature of his

relationship with Kai.

A romantic drama set in Germany just

before the outbreak of World War One.

A graduate of humble origins takes

attraction is challenged both by her

loyalty to her husband and eventually

the oncoming war.

harsh reality of ageing in Hollywood.

a studio to preserve her digital likeness

then witness the fallout of an attention-

grabbing act of sabotage, they find

support. Undeterred they set off to

deepest Wales to make their donation

in person.

Spirited Away director Hayao Miyazaki

brings a close to his spectacular career

Horikoshi is fascinated by flight from

building flying machines. He joins a

major engineering company in 1927

and becomes one of Japan’s most

accomplished airplane designers but

as World War II looms he must face

the moral dilemma over the use of

his creations.

The latest film from Ken Loach tells the

true story of Irish activist Jimmy Gralton.

to help his mother run the family farm.

He decides to reopen the ‘Hall’, a young

people’s centre, free and open to all to

dance, study or talk. Success comes

quickly but the growing influence of

Jimmy and his radical ideas is not to the

taste of everyone in the village.

Join the RSPB and The Dukes on

Saturday 30 August from 12pm for

a day of nature-themed fun. There

will be a range of free activities for all

the family which will include making

butterfly feeders and bird masks, a

workshop about attracting garden

wildlife and even owl pellet dissections.

At the heart of the event we will be

screening Project Wild Thing. RSPB staff

will be on hand to answer any questions

and to suggest ways you can get more

out of the local environment.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTThe Dukes is just a few minutes walk from both Lancaster Train Station

and Bus Station.

PARKINGAmple pay and display parking is available within two minutes walk of The Dukes

– a flat evening rate applies after 6pm. Bike racks are located on Moor Lane, close

to The Dukes.

CAR PARKING SPACES for blue badge holders can usually be reserved in

advance by contacting our Box Office.

ACCESSWheelchair spaces are available and access to the auditorium, Box Office and bar

is via the alley to the left of the main entrance. Please note that the surface of the

alley is cobbled. There is a doorbell by the ramp if the door is not open.

FACILITIES FOR DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING PATRONS Infra red sound systems are available to amplify sound via a personal headset.
