Mentors from all three DREAM programs recruited 27 new mentors to join Dartmouth DREAM. They will begin mentoring in the beginning of January. Mentors participated in the Alumni Appeal Phone-a-thon where they called former mentors updating them on DREAM Local Programs. Participants Mentees Mentors Total: 21 Total: 27 Females: 10 Females: 18 Males: 11 Males: 9 Weekly Programming with Children Northwoods mentoring pairs spent two Fridays doing one-one activities, including soccer on the green, kickball, scrapbooking, bored games, and cookie baking. On October 18 mentees participated in a Halloween event hosted by UNICEF for Dartmouth. Mentors and youth decorated pumpkins, face painted, painted UNICEF collection boxes, and ate lots of Halloween candy! A Halloween arts and crafts event planned for Monday, October 21 was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy predictions. There was no DREAM on October 26 due to Dartmouth’s Homecoming weekend.
