THE Diamond Celebrate Me Week Volume 29, Issue 5 Friday Aug 4th, 2017 Page 1 ...It’s all inside! Thursday’s Theme This morning Julia gave us the Trust In The Lord Talk. She started her talk by showing us the example of the trust fall. We had Kate go up and stand on the ladder and she trusted that Dusty would catch her. Julia went on to explaining how trusting in God often feels like standing on a cliff and trusting that God will catch us when we fall. It’s who she trusted. Julia didn’t know how to deal with what had happened so she made herself busy. She got involved in multiple school activities so she wouldn’t have to think about how hurt and broken she was. Unlike you, Julia didn’t attend CMW. She didn’t have the community you have, the binder and reminders of how God loves you and cares for you, but she did have amazing friends who convinced her to work at camp. She told us how when she was at camp that was the first time she opened up about what had happened to her, she finally felt like she was in a safe place, with people who cared and wanted to help her. Julia was finally able to jump off that cliff and trusted that God would catch her. He did, Julia got much better and was able to get help and heal from all the pain. Trusting in God can be scary at times, but if He brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Julia ended her talk with the and the song Trust In You by Lauren Daigle. not easy, especially when we feel like God has dealt us a difficult hand in life. ...It’s all inside!

Thursday’s Theme

This morning Julia gave us the Trust

In The Lord Talk. She started her

talk by showing us the example of

the trust fall. We had Kate go up

and stand on the ladder and she

trusted that Dusty would catch

her. Julia went on to explaining

how trusting in God often feels like

standing on a cliff and trusting that

God will catch us when we fall. It’s

who she trusted. Julia didn’t know how to deal with what had happened so she made herself

busy. She got involved in multiple school activities so she wouldn’t have to think about how

hurt and broken she was. Unlike you, Julia didn’t attend CMW. She didn’t have the

community you have, the binder and reminders of how God loves you and cares for you, but

she did have amazing friends who convinced her to work at camp. She told us how when

she was at camp that was the first time she opened up about what had happened to her, she

finally felt like she was in a safe place, with people who cared and wanted to help her. Julia

was finally able to jump off that cliff and trusted that God would catch her. He did, Julia got

much better and was able to get help and heal from all the pain. Trusting in God can be

scary at times, but if He brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Julia ended her talk

with the and the song Trust In You by Lauren Daigle.

not easy, especially when we feel like God has dealt us a

difficult hand in life. Julia told us how when she was 15,

she was sexually assaulted by a friend of hers. Someone

“With all your heart you must trust the LORD, and not your own judgement.”

S.O.D. At Thursday morning’s S.O.D., we were introduced to the theme

of the day: friendship. Friendships are very important, but we

need to remember to surround ourselves with good friends and not bad. We

then went around giving examples each.

Good friend → compliment, make you feel good about yourself, building them

up, put you first before others, support you, willing to forgive you, they don’t use

you.

Bad friend → selfish, bully you, put you down, say mean things behind your

back, negative around you, don’t support you.

After we had Ryan and Dylan go up and talk about their friendship. They

talked about how they met outside of camp and Ryan had convinced Dylan to

come and work at camp with him. They’ve known each other their whole lives, but it was CMW that brought them closer together. Next Tracie

and Tim went up and told us about their friendship. They met at

camp a few years back and even though they might not get to see each other all the time, they still remain close. CMW

being the center of both these friendships is what

makes them so much stronger.

Then we read verse

Matthew 10:1-4

The

Awards Banquet Thursday evening, we all got dressed up, ate a lovely meal hosted by the M.A.G.I.C. team,

attended an awards banquet, had a surprise dance, watched some awesome fireworks, and ended

the night with a Thank You circle.
