Invitations - Sending Think about your pitch to connect, show value My message for new people:

I'd like to add you to my network of more than 1,310 trusted business professionals on LinkedIn, the premier business professional network with more than 30 million professionals world-wide. If you haven't heard of it, LinkedIn is an online social networking tool that allows you to keep in touch with your professional contacts and make new contacts online. It also makes it very easy for you to find professionals you need (hiring, partnerships, sales, pretty much anything!) and get a warm introduction from someone you already know and trust.

Basic membership is FREE, and it takes less than a minute to sign up and join my network. This

great tool has received many positive reviews by all the major business magazines:http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=press_info You can also read an article I wrote mentioning LinkedIn for the Cincinnati Business Courier:http://cincinnati.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/stories/2006/02/27/focus2.html I can nearly guarantee that some of your friends and colleagues are already using on LinkedIn,

which is growing by thousands of users each week and now has over 30,000,000 professional users.

I encourage you to check out my connections for people you know and add your own connections. Get

started networking, it's amazing how I've been able to reconnect with many long-lost colleagues and Army buddies all over the world and I'm sure you will too!

Reputation Management Track everything related to your company: variations of

company/product names, names of your key employees, all applicable product or service

Investigate facts internally before taking action - could this be a competitor spreading rumor?

Always take the high ground Be honest! Explain what you have done to rectify any issue Offer to resolve any complaints personally - have a

senior-level staff member make the offer - try to continue discussion offline

Rally friends, clients, peers and utilize your allies Don’t create new “personas” to support your position in

blogs, forums and message boards as you’ll likely be caught

Remember that information you post could last “forever”

Reputation Management

THINK LONG TERM!

ASSUME THAT ONCE POSTED, INFORMATION LASTS FOREVER!

DON’T DO ANYTHING STUPID!
