The region has a network of national parks and nature reserves. Our support is tangible and direct: buying essential equipment such as binoculars, cameras and phones. fostering tourism development by maintaining trails, tourist facilities and ranger shelters. making capital purchases such as jeeps and fire trucks. implementing species reintroduction projects. paying adequate salaries to rangers.

SUPPORTING RANGERSA park is only as strong as the people who takecare of it. CNF support ensures park rangers andstaff receive a living wage by providing salarysupplements. We also increase capacity andpromote best practices with training and planningtools.

BIODIVERSITY MONITORINGBiodiversity monitoring is an essentialconservation tool for appropriately managing apark’s natural resources. CNF is supportingbiodiversity monitoring projects on a pilot basis inKhosrov Forest Reserve. The project will utilize thelatest technologies to create a species monitoringsystem and will build community capacity byinvolving local Ngos, field guides and students.

PROMOTING NATURE TOURISMCNF encourages cooperation amonggovernments, local communities and parkauthorities to promote sustainable development.CNF ensures tourism plans are developed as partof the overall management planning for theprotected areas, which can provide alternativeand more sustainable economic opportunities tolocal people as well as revenue for the parks.
