SiSenStein, Dzikiewicz top poDiumS at Broome-tioga winter SerieS Sisenstein held onto the lead and took the 85cc 12-15 mo-

torcycle scramble division win uncontested. Flint, Schultz, Warner and Kamren Lehman completed the top five.

When starter threw the green flag to start the Super Open motorcycle scramble, Marcus Scutt-Cornell, Ian Howes, Spencer Hoyt, Kenneth Bell and Alex Dzikiewicz led the pack out of the first turn and onto the racecourse.

When the leaders entered the motocross section of the race-course near the end of the opening lap, Scutt-Cornell continued to occupy the point position and was followed by Dzikiewicz, now in second. Hoyt, Howes and Bell rounded out the top five.

Scutt-Cornell remained out front at the start of lap three and the top five remained unchanged from the previous lap.

Hurd Motorsports, promoters of the world class Broome-Tioga Sports Center facility, hosted the fifth round of the fourth season of their Winter Mud and Snow Scrambles Se-ries. The series consists of ten rounds running from Novem-ber thru April utilizing the multiple motocross tracks, grass track and single track trails of this massive facility. The series continues expand and has been attracting new racers to this unique and challenging series but also continues to attract some of the most experienced and talented off-road riders from upstate New York and beyond.

Round five dawned under sunny skies and frigid tempera-tures with a brisk wind that made it feel much colder. Mother Nature decided to bring snow to the region the night prior to the event, dumping several inches of new snow on a frozen racecourse. Thankfully, the temperature rose throughout the day and eventually climbed to a sweltering 30 degrees!

Track conditions were sketchy at best due to the fact that the racecourse was blanketed with up to six inches of snow in sec-tions and the frigid temperatures had iced over some sections of the course as well. The un-studded divisions would have a very difficult time navigating the frozen racecourse.

When the green flag dropped for the start of the 85cc 12-15 motorcycle scramble, Cheyenne Sisenstein and Bobby Shultz exited the first turn almost side by side and led the rest of the field onto the frozen racecourse.

When the leaders had completed the opening lap, Sisenstein was out front with the lead and was followed by Deekon Flint, Gerald Ellicott, Shultz and Nathan Warner.

Sisenstein continued leading the scramble at the start of lap three. Flint held second, Shultz passed Elliott to secure third place which pushed Elliott back to fourth and Warner re-mained in fifth.
