Introduction

This paper I would like to introduces the new Tools to develop

creativity by a Thai engineer, named Cheovet Yimsirikul. Since

1992, it has been effectively implemented in factories more than

250 factories in Thailand.Most Asian People usually think that once a new technique or

the development in the western countries becomes well-known, the

company must seek to take advantages of this new development

without consideration of human gap or culture barriers because the

formal education does not support creativity development strongly

enough and seems to look over this subject. So if we added up all

the barriers together, we could not easily solve the challenged

problems in our generation.

DSM by HAT (Demand Side Management by Human ware

Approach Technique) is the technique developed by Mr. Cheovet

Yimsirikul who is inspired by the losses resulted from looking over

of people in industries especially energy losses. The factories should

be inspected precisely through creative walk-through energy audit

with the tools that could find various losses created by looking over

of human and by many kinds of questions to the personnel in

charged of the factories or in turn by questioning about the document

reports in the factories. We have formulated 5 tools that has been

effectively implemented in more than 250 factories for 11 years of

servicing to Thai Industries.

5 tools are composed as below

1. Idle-Time Analysis Table

2. Process Flow Chart

3. Fish Meat Analysis Menu

4. Individual Waste Analysis Table5. Amendment of Recording system to improve problems

sensitivity in the organization.

Now, it is time to introduces this useful technique to my

colleagues from Asian Countries and ABK, AOTS Alumni.

I am very pleased if my favorite technique can do some

contribution to the cost reduction in your countries, and this

technique will contribute a lot to prevent the earth from warming

phenomena that are heavily burden of human being.

How does DSM by HAT work?

In general for day to day operation in a factory you will

involve with 5 Ms and each M will affect your cost and

productivity one way or anothers.

Man power is a major source to increase your cost if he or

she works inefficiently therefore, you have to train them, before you

sending them to production lines , in other words you have to earn

experienced workers or qualified workers who know how to work

properly and creatively.

Machines or equipments play very important role for your

production. Maintenance system must be enforced to keep your

machines running without shutting down all the time.

Material also is a key cost, if the material for production is not

defected, your cost will be reduced at the end of the production line,

therefore the material must be screened out at the beginning of the

production.

Method of Production, you have to fix it out which way is the

best method to run with the least time, the best quality and the least

or zero defect in your production. Therefore your R&D department

have to work closely with the production line.

Lastly, the executives have to put the other 4 Ms together and

encourage the department chief and workers to work together to

achieve everyones goal for the Benefit of the company.
