The Amazing Spiderman

Abandoned by his parents and raised by an aunt and uncle, teenager Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, is trying to sort out who he is and exactly what his feelings are for his first crush, Gwen Stacy. When Peter finds a mysterious briefcase that was his father's, he pursues a quest to solve his parents' disappearance. His search takes him to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), setting him on a collision course with Connors' alter ego, the Lizard.

Some of these are Action Adventure, Thiller, Science Fiction and Drama. The fact that this film is an action adventure implies that it will appeal more towards the male gender, however it could also draw attention to the female gender. The main reason for this genre mainly attracting males is due to the fact that males usually grow up used to violence etc. from video games and other movies. As has been established, this film consists of the genre thriller. This could suggest that this film may revolve round anticipation and suspense. The aim for Thrillers is to keep the audience alert and on the edge of their seats. The protagonist in these films is set against a problem, an escape, a mission, or a mystery. These genres indicate that this film will include tension from a large problem being built on throughout the film, leading to a highly stressful climax. The stars involved in this film are Andrew Garfield (The social network and Never let me go), Emma Stone (Easy A, and Crazy Stupid love), Stan Lee (The Avengers and The Guardians of the Galaxy), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill and Harry Potter), Denis Leary (Ice Age and The Ref) etc. An actor who is involved with the making of The Amazing Spiderman is Denis Leary, who has been part of the popular film Ice Age. Whereas, Emma Stone is not as know by the public due to her films not being as big compared to Ice Age. However, she has been an actor in the films Easy A and Crazy Stupid Love. The fact that these films are not very big/popular or known, results in the public being unaware of this actor and who she is compared to stars like Denis Leary and Andrew Garfield.

The film was the first Hollywood production to be filmed using Red Digital cinema camera company’s RED Epic camera and was shot in 3D at 5K resolution. CGI was also used.
