Diamonds studded engagement rings, necklaces, bracelets, are people’s first choice as gift item for their partners. Its popularity has made diamond merchants to create blatant rip offs of diamond jewellery. The uninitiated customers are unable to differ to figure the difference between an original piece and a rip off. Emma Parker and Co. openly shares the knowledge about the diamonds that a customer should have before purchasing a diamond jewellery item.

Let’s start with the 4 C’s which are as follows1 Cut

A well cut diamond releases its light. They are identified for their intense sparkling and capacity to transmit light. We all have seen diamonds in shapes such as pear, round, emerald, etc. But how well diamond’s surface intermingles with the light decides the cut grade of the diamond. Only an experienced diamond worker knows this fact and can precisely cut the stone into its proper symmetry and proportions irrespective of the geometry.

Emma Parker and Co. work on various parameters for the perfect cut of the diamond to set it in their diamond engagement rings. Some of the parameters are

Scintillation: The intensity of glitter produced by the diamond and the dark and light region due the reflection inside the diamond.

Brightness: Outer and inner reflected white light from the diamond

Fire: Fire is known as the dispersal of white light into a rainbow by the diamond

2 Color

The color range of diamond varies from total colorless to extreme light. A perfect cut and pure diamond does not have any hue. It’s like a droplet of clean water and has high ratings. The color of the diamonds change from colorless to a slight pale yellow as we move on the scale from colorless to extreme light.

3 Clarity

Diamond with least amount or the absence of scratches or also known as blemishes and knots or also known as inclusions is considered the clearest diamond. The ratings of the diamond decreases as blemishes and inclusions increased in the piece. These imperfections can be too tiny that only a trained grader can see it with a microscope. IN jewellery sets such ad diamond engagement rings where very small piece needed, the portion of the diamond with these imperfections is removed.

4 Carat Weight

1 carat = 200 milligrams. It is a unit to weight the diamond. Diamond less than 1 carat are described as point. For instance a 0.35 carat diamond will be called ‘thirty-five pointer’. The price of the diamond increases with its weight as large diamond pieces are very rare and more in demand.

So, now you know on what basis, the quality of diamond is judged. Emma Parker and Co. does not want to keep its customers in dark that is we have provided this information.
