I would like to convey my heart filled thanks to Mr.Lawrence Chettri entrepreneurship teacher, who always gave valuable suggestions and guidance during the completion of this project. He has been a source of inspiration during the completion of my project work. He helped me understand and remember important details of the project that I would have otherwise lost. My project has been a success only because of his guidance. I would also like to convey my thanks to the school management for organizing such an educational trip to Thacker’s Dairy.

INTRODUCTIONThe Thacker family dairy business all started with Late Shri Narayanji Jivandas Thacker . Shri Narayanji had sown the seeds of what a beautiful garden it is today . Since then , the next generations have managed to grow and are still on the path of success . Shri Narayanji had begun the THACKER GROUP way back in the year of Independence , i.e. , 1948 . There has been no scope to look back since then . The Thacker Group , then dealt in Dry Fruits & Nuts , Elmac Foods and etc. Then in the year 1995 seeds of THACKER DAIRY were sown by Mr. Dinesh N. Thacker , son of Late Shri Narayanji Jivandas Thacker . Thacker Dairy deals in various list of items including milk , butter , paneer , dahi , skimmed milk powder and many other . The Dairy Plant is located in Andul , Howrah District of West Bengal . The farm was established with the aim to deliver farm fresh premium dairy products . The group was founded in 1948 by Late Shri Narayanji Jivandas Thacker. Since then, the group has diversified into the field of Dairy Industry, Dry Fruits and Nuts, Pickles, Chutneys, Juices and various other Food Products etc.In 1995, Thacker Dairy Products Private Limited started its dairy processing centre in West Bengal. By doing so, it became the 1st Private Dairy in West Bengal, with the vision and aim to organize the then unorganized milk market in and around Kolkata which was at that time filled with local milk sellers in an unhygienic manner. After being a Pioneer in the development and the change of the milk market in West Bengal, Thacker Dairy in 1998 looked at the procurement of milk in West Bengal, which was also much unorganized. Thacker Dairy set up a chilling centre in Shyampur, in 1998, again becoming the first private Dairy in West Bengal to do so. With the help of the chilling centre, Thacker Dairy ensured that the milk it used in its factory was fresh and direct from the farmers. In 2010, Thacker Dairy has become the 1st to set up a Spray Drier Plant in the whole of Eastern India. By doing so, Thacker Dairy will be able to convert the milk into Skimmed Milk Powder and Butter/Ghee and market it in West Bengal. By setting up the Spray Drier Plant, Thacker Dairy will manufacture and ensure that the slowly ensure that West Bengal becomes an independent state in terms of dairy products. From 1995 to 2010, in 15 years, Thacker Dairy has been a pioneer in the dairy industry in West Bengal, with its aim and vision being the development of West Bengal and slowly making West Bengal an independent state which manufactures its own dairy products.
