The state of Texas offers a variance of beneficial programs and an abundance of ancillary funding accessible to individuals and businesses, alike. There is a myriad of resources available, and specifically allocated to education, training, and the economic development of Texas residents. Though many people may be unaware of the gratis financial resources offered through the state, a simple computer search, or trip to the local library will provide a wealth of information for those in search of state-funded higher learning in regard to trade schools, colleges, and skills training.

The Self Sufficiency program, endowed through the Texas Workforce Commission provides grants to community and technical colleges, as well as community-based organizations, in effort to sanction customized job training programs. This program is a conglomerate endeavor; developed in cooperation with employers to aid low-income individuals, and those receiving public assistance achieve self-sufficiency and gain independence.

Additionally, participating businesses and trade unions are sponsored by the Self-Sufficiency Fund to materialize customized job-training projects for new and current employees.
