• Never let stakeholders know good or bad news via the media.

• “Yield no ground as an authority in your field.”

• Rule for Board Members – “Give. Get. Or get off.”

• No one who hasn’t made a gift should be asking for donations.

• Do your homework before asking – look at a donor’s real estate or other donations to understand their donor potential.

• 7 Thank you’s are not enough for major donors. Everyone in your org should reach out and say thanks.
