    Welcome to the 2012 Texas Deer Association Superior Genetics Deer Auction at the San Antonio

    Stock Show and Rodeo. After eight years of affiliation with the wonderful volunteers at the San

    Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, we are especially excited to join forces with their Wildlife

    Committee. And to help showcase the new Wildlife Expo Center, our auction this year will now

    be held in their new climate-controlled facility.

    Our February auction traditionally kicks off the TDA marketing year for our members with an

    excellent assortment of the best genetics TDA members have to offerand this year is no

    exception. Take a look through this catalog and I think that you will agree that the continued

    advancement in genetic standards sets TDA members apart in the deer industry.

    Please contact any of the auction staff with questions, concerns or interest. We are glad you chose

    to be a part this auction and are looking for more great things from Texas Deer Association in

    the future.

    MISSION STATEMENT OF THE TEXAS DEER ASSOCIATION

    TDA is the unified voice of deer enthusiasts who seek to share ideas and methods to improve management and harvest ofdeer. TDA is a Texas deer organization that cares for the welfare and health of deer herds and methods to improve deerquality and hunting quality in Texas. We, as the TDA, are working toward better conservation, appropriate regulations andimproving the overall quality of deer herds in Texas.

    Purpose & Goals

    To promote wise management of deer, recognizing that hunting and management are lifelong enterprises;

    To be a repository and clearinghouse of accurate and high quality information and knowledge;

    To promote deer herd health and quality through research, technology, and flexible management practices;

    To improve the image and awareness of deer management and harvest through public education;

    To promote research and technology regarding improvements to deer herds through the practice of controlled breeding and genetic improvements;

    To share research findings, management techniques and harvest strategies with the membership of TDA; and

    To increase quality hunting opportunities for Texas hunters.

    The deer-breeding industry is relatively new to Texas, but data from a 2007 Texas A&M University Economic Impact Study indicates it has a $652 million annual economic impact in Texas, equivalent to the states rice and citrus industries. The industrys economic contributions, especially to rural areas, tourism, real estate, wildlife, game and land management, are beginning to be noticed, not only in Texas, but in states across the nation.

    At the 2011 Texas Deer Association Convention, TDA sold the covers tothe upcoming Auction Sales to benefit our Scholarship, PAC and GeneralFunds. Lone Hollow Whitetails purchased the 2012 February cover. Inthis catalog on page 18 the NEW April TDA Greater Houston SuperiorGenetics Deer Auction cover is for sale. This lot benefits the TDA PACFund. Thank you everyone for your support of TDA.

    Its not just blind luck that the Triple JJJ Ranch breeding program produces huge bucks every year. Our cornerstone breeder buck BAL (338 @ 6 yrs old, DNAS# 27545) hasproven himself to be an incredible sire, producing huge sons when crossed with does out of just about any line. In 2011 for example, Lazy (BAL x Maxbo daughter) scored 2203/8 at two years old and Blue 9033 (BAL x Hammer daughter) scored 213 5/8 at two years old. BAL also sired the largest whitetail buck ever grown in the state of Texas: BlackBAL (BAL x Problem Child daughter) scored 461 in velvet in August of 2011 at three years old. Perhaps the most impressive part of BALs incredible production is that he has afull Texas pedigree, a fact very important to consider after the EHD/Bluetongue epidemics of 2011. BALs descendants are showing impressive hardiness and have proven yearafter year to be the line with the least health problems on our ranch. Triple JJJ Ranch is proud to offer in the February TDA deer auction the buyers choice of any BAL son bornon the ranch in 2011. Buyer may inspect pedigrees of all 2011 born BAL sons and make their selection at Triple JJJ Ranch in February of 2012. This is your chance to get aTexas bloodline breeder buck to count on for many years to come.

    Whitetailsforsale.com was started in 1999 on theMorgan Ranch with the goal of producing the bestpossible whitetail deer in Texas. The foundation

    began with genetics from the best deer herds in thestate, and we have since grown STICKERS, the new Texasstate record whitetail. On October 25, 2006 STICKERSscored 335 1/8 B&C and is the only whitetail in the stateto have scored over 300 B&C in consecutive years. OurA.I. program was started utilizing several bucks from theRedoy line (Ben, Magnum, Bill, Ruger, & Weatherby)and has been successfully crossed with our pure SouthTexas does with great success. We have carefullyselected our doe herd for not only their pedigree but alsotheir disposition, mothering, and disease resistance andfeel that they are as fine as any in Texas.
