Some times may be available for Wednesday 27 March, depending on the class. Slips will be sent home this week informing you of your day and time. Please keep in mind that these are only ten minute time slots so we do ask you to be considerate of the parents waiting (and the teacher who is already making themselves available after work hours) by staying on time and bringing any prepared questions with you. Would You Like to Save $325? As you would be aware we have a No Parking, or commonly referred to as a Drop Off or Kiss and Go, zone right out the front of our school which is great for the morning rush. However, whatever we call it, it is definitely NOT a parking zone and the time limit on cars to be there is 2 minutes so parents have time to assist their children get safely out of the car should they have to use the road side…often the case for families that are also accommodating car seats. In these zones you also have to be no further than 3 meters from your car which does not allow for walking into the school. For the people that have been parking there and leaving their cars unattended please be warned that we have requested police do a drive by in the coming weeks so this is your opportunity to save $325. Parent Teacher Interviews

Notes went home last week and many have come back already…but in case your child’s note is at the bottom of their bag, Parent Teacher Interviews will be held this week, Thursday 28 March, in the library.

More information about these zones can be found further in the Newsletter.

School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships Information

We have been advised that this year the School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships are being held in Darwin BEFORE the NSWPSSA Championships in Homebush. Generally it is from the NSWPSSA Championships that students are ranked and deemed eligible to attend the national event. As this will not be the case this year students may be nominated to take part in a selection trial that will take place at Homebush on Thursday 8 April. Those nominating to take part must nominate as an individual using times/distances/heights from school, district or Little Athletics (or similar). All students nominating must also be available to attend the Darwin event. There is a note with further information available at the office should be interested to know more.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program of Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) takes place next term for students in Years 3 and 5 at our school. There is an information sheet included in the Newsletter so if you have a child in either of those grades please have a look as it will be the first time these students have completed NAPLAN online.

Harmony Day

What an amazing sea of orange we had on Thursday as we celebrated inclusivity, respect for each other and the Harmony Day theme ‘Everyone Belongs’. Thank you to all involved. A big thanks to all the teachers for organising such engaging activities and to the students for their enthusiasm and participation. A great day was had by all!!

From the Office…

Tuesday 2 April – PHOTO DAY! Bring in your envelopes ON THE DAY!

Please ensure correct uniform is worn on that day, including black shoes. Multi-coloured sneakers are quite obvious in a class photo! We do start with our youngest students so they are photographed while still clean…this just means we will need the students from K and 1/2 to be at school on time that day!

Should you wish siblings to have photos together, an envelope is to be collected from the office prior to photo day.

Hot Cross Bun Orders 2019

This is a fundraiser our Year 6 students are running so it would be lovely if you were able to support them. The Baker’s Delight buns come in a variety of types (traditional, choc chip, apple and cinnamon, mocha or fruitless) and are each $7.50 for a pack of 6. Order forms have been sent home with students and a copy can also be found further on in this newsletter. Please return your order forms by Friday 5th April (Week 10). Collection day for hot cross bun orders will be Thursday 11th April (Week 11).

Stewart House School Clothing Appeal 2019
