Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank You On behalf of Mr Walker, I would like to thank our staff and parent community for supporting our students during the difficult times we have had so far this year. Congratulations Gol Gol Staff and students would like to send our best wishes to Miss Hannah Chapple who will be getting married in the holidays. We wish Hannah and Braam a happy day and great future. Student Reports Mid Year student reports will go home today. Interviews will not be scheduled, however any parent seeking an interview will need to make an appointment for early in Term 3. In Term 3 our focus will remain on Literacy, Numeracy and Science. After School Hours Access There have been reports of students and members of the public on school grounds after school and on weekends. Please be aware the school site is not for public access out of school hours or during the holidays. Annual Year 1 Speech Screening Over the past week we have had speech pathologists from Robinvale Community Health complete screening for our Year 1 students. This screening process takes place each year and is completed in Term 1 but due to Covid19 their timetable has been delayed. If any follow up is required parents/carers will be contacted. Attendance A reminder to parents/carers that any student absence requires an explanation. This is a requirement of NSW Education Dept. Absence notification can be Via Skoolbag app, hard copy note to class teacher or phone call to the office. Sickness Please remember that from time to time children will feel unwell. There are a number of bugs going around the district. This is not necessarily COVID 19 related. If in doubt speak to a medical practitioner. Students are not to be at school if they are sick. Sick students will be sent home and must not return to school until they are well. This is a current requirement of the NSW Department of Education and NSW Health. Principal Leave Mr Walker is on leave until the end of Term 2. Mrs Broadfoot is acting Principal supported by relieving Assistant Principal Mel Blows. Mr Walker can still be contacted at any time. Collecting Students When collecting students from School we are still required to observe social distancing rules. We ask for parent/carers to nominate a time for us to collect students from class and then they will wait at the front office. We then ask that you park at the front entrance closest to the office (the bus zone times are 8am-10am and 3pm-4pm) phone the office and your child will be sent out. Essential visitors to school sites Essential visitors must sign in at the office. There is a specific form that must be filled out when people come onto school sites. We ask parents, volunteers and members of the community not to come onto the school grounds without the prior approval of the Principal or delegate.

School in 2021 We are currently taking enrolments for the 2021 school year. Please encourage anyone that you know with a school age child starting school in 2021 to get in touch with us. We have produced a short school promo for our school Facebook page. New enrolment meetings with parents and carers where essential will continue. Non-Essential Activities/Excursions Non-essential activities and work placements are not permitted. A decision on the Canberra excursion and the Year 4/5 excursion will be made soon, pending DET Policy and travel information. An expression of interest letter has been sent home with Year 6 students as to whether parents intend to send their child if the excursion goes ahead. If this note has not been returned please do so. Kitchen/Garden Kitchen classes will resume next term. This will initially not have volunteers present.
