In 2004 - UT’s most-winningest campaign in terms of percentage - the Lady Vols also had a pair of wins over ranked opponents through six matches. The Orange & White beat then-No. 18 Loyola Marymount and then-No. 24 Purdue. ¢ The Lady Vols posted a program-high .914 win- ning percentage with a 32-3 overall record, including a 15-1 mark in league play in 2004. After sharing the SEC title, UT went on to win two matches in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Ten- nessee also captured the 2004 SEC Tournament title. The 6-foot-2 hitter registered three 20-plus kill outings and had at least 17 digs in each match. She posted her third-career 20-20 effort with 24 kills and 22 digs in a loss to BYU and tallied 24 kills and 18 digs against the Rams. She now has 32-career double-doubles, including five straight. ¢ Sophomore Mary Pollmiller became just the second player in program history to record a triple- double with 49 assists, 14 digs and a career-best 11 kills against the Shockers. Pollmiller was also named to the all-tournament team. ¢ Sophomore Tiffany Baker matched a career-best at the event with 19 kills against CSU, while senior Leslie Cikra stepped up defensively, tallying a team- leading 16 blocks at the tournament. MEDIA CREDENTIALS Requests for working media credentials should be directed to volleyball contact Brian Bruce. Those wishing to attend a match are asked to call the Media Relations Office to be placed on the pass list. Photo credentials will be issued only to accredited photographers or those individuals on special assignment. Because there are specifically designated areas for photographers, we ask that anyone shooting a Lady Vol volleyball match at Thompson-Boling Arena check with Brian prior to the start of the contest.

RADIO Thompson-Boling Arena is available for radio broadcasts through UT Telephone Services. In order to access these lines, those interested in broadcasting a particular match need to inform the UT Athletics Media Relations Office in writing at their earliest convenience and no later than three weeks prior to the contest. Radio stations also will need to contact UT Telephone Services at (865) 974-3121 to order a telephone line for use at the contest(s).

STATISTICAL SERVICES Services provided include statistics generated from the StatCrew computer program. Match statistics will be handed to all attending members of the media and sports information personnel after every game. Following the conclusion of the match, final statistics will be faxed/emailed to the visiting sports information director’s fax/email list. Results will also be emailed to the sports information contact of visiting teams at the conclusion of the match in lieu of a sports information representative traveling with his or her team. Arrangements should be made in advance for any additional services.

INTERVIEWS Interviews will be available following the match after a 10-minute cooling-off period. Media wishing to interview the coaches or any players other than on game days are required to set up interviews with 24 hours notice through Brian Bruce in the UT Media Relations Office.

BACK IN THE RANKINGS¢ For the third consecutive season, the Tennessee

volleyball team opened its campaign in the national rankings, as it came in at No. 15 in the American Vol-leyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll, which was released on Aug. 13.

¢ The preseason ranking was the ninth in program history for the Lady Vols, who concluded 2011 rated as the 19th-best team in the nation.

¢ On Aug. 27, the Lady Vols moved up one position to No. 14 in the nation following wins over Cincinnati and then-No. 10 Iowa State. UT fell down two notches to No. 16 after posting a 2-1 mark at the Shocker Vol-leyball Classic.

¢ Dating back to last season, Tennessee has now spent 13 consecutive polling periods in the AVCA’s national rankings

¢ After entering the ranking at No. 24 on Nov. 30, 2009, the Lady Vols spent 19 consecutive polling pe-riod in the Top 25, until falling out for a four-week span last season.

TENNESSEE vs. THE TOP 25¢ Through six matches, the Lady Vols have faced

three opponents ranked in the top 25 and two that were receiving votes in the poll. ¢ UT is 2-1 against teams in the top 25 this season

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM¢ For their efforts, Robinson and Pollmiller both

landed on the Wichita State Shocker Volleyball Clas-sic All-Tournament Team last weekend.¢ It was the second straight all-tournament team

honor for Robinson, who landed on all three of UT’s regular season all-tournament teams last season. She was named to the Illinois State Farm Classic, Virginia Tech Invitational and Comcast Lady Vol Classic tour-nament teams in 2011. on Sept. 1 and topped UMBC in their home opener on Wednesday night by a 3-2 margin.¢ Picked fourth in the Atlantic-10 Preseason Coach-

es Poll, GW is led by senior Lauren Whyte. After post-ing 19 kills against UMBC, Whyte leads the team with 96 on the season. Whyte was an A-10 First Team All-Conference selection in 2011.¢ Defensively, George Washington is paced by se-

BOSTON COLLEGE¢ Boston College enters the tournament with a

record of 4-3, having gone 3-1 in the Boston College Invitational on Aug. 24-25, before posting a 1-2 mark at Southern California’s Luxe City Center Invitational. ¢ The Eagles defeated SEC affiliate Mississippi State

and took a set from No. 5 USC at the Trojans’ event.¢ Freshman Katty Workman leads the Eagles with

108 kills for a 4.0 kills per set average. She’s posted three double-doubles this season and ranks second in the ACC in kills per set. ¢ Sophomore Courtney Castle leads the teams in

digs (3.3/Set) and ranks second on the squad in kills (3.04/set). BC runs both Kellie Barnum and Cagla Sen at the setter position.¢ At the net, Melissa McTighe leads the Eagles with

23 total blocks.¢ Chris Campbell is in his third season at Boston

College after serving as both an assistant and associ-ate head coach at Auburn from 2008-09. Campbell holds a 20-51 overall record at BC.

MARYLAND¢ Tournament host Maryland enters its second

home tournament with a 4-2 overall record. The Terps posted wins over Villanova, New Hampshire, Robert Morris and Binghamton this season and took a tal-ented Ohio State team to five sets.¢ The ACC affiliates are led by sophomore outside

hitter Ashleigh Crutcher, who has a team-high 82 kills on the season and is averaging 3.57 per set. Crutcher posted 18 kills against Seton Hall, 17 against Bing-hamton and a career-best effort of 19 kills against the Buckeyes.¢ Defensively, Maryland is led by junior libero Sarah

Harper. Harper has 91 digs on the campaign and is av-eragine 3.96 per game. ¢ At the net, sophomore 6-foot-3 middle blocker

Adreene Elliot leads the way with 19 total blocks.¢ The Terps run a two-setter system with Remy

McBain and freshman Mackenzie Dagostino. The two have combined for 259 assists this season.¢ The Terrapins went 10-22 last season, including a

hard-fought five-set loss to the Lady Vols.¢ Maryland has nine returning letterwinners and

seven new freshmen this season. The Terps were picked to finish 10th in the ACC.¢ Head Coach Tim Horsmon returns for his fifth sea-

son after spending five seasons at Dayton. Horsmon made eight NCAA appearances in his first nine season as a head coach and earned the 2007 AVCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year award. He has a record of 53-82 at Maryland.

WHO’S BACK?¢ Tennessee is returning all six starters and its start-

ing libero in 2012: seniors Leslie Cikra and DeeDee Harrison, junior Kelsey Robinson and sophomores Mary Pollmiller, Tiffany Baker and Shealyn Kolosky. Junior Ellen Mullins is the returning starting libero for the Orange & White. In addition, the Lady Vols also welcome back redshirt senior Kayla Jeter, who spent the 2011 campaign sidelined with a knee injury. ¢ Robinson set the tone for the Big Orange last

season, earning AVCA Second Team All-American honors. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter became the first UT player to be named SEC Player of the Year after leading the league in kills (4.52/set), points (5.15/set) and double-doubles (23), while rating second in ser-vice aces (.35/set). She was also named a Volleyball Magazine All-American and earned AVCA All-South Region honors.¢ Harrison, Baker and Cikra all earned AVCA All-

American Honorable Mention honors last season after helping guide UT to its first outright SEC title. Har-rison, a First Team All-SEC member and AVCA All-South Region honoree, led the conference in blocks (1.14/set). Baker was tabbed to the All-SEC Second Team and the SEC All-Freshman Team after averag-ing 2.48 kills/set. The 6-foot-4 outside hitter earned College Volleyball Update National Player of the Week honors on Nov. 1. Cikra was named First Team All-SEC and earned AVCA All-American Honorable Mention accolades after hitting a scorching .330 in league matches last season. Cikra was also named to the AVCA’s All-South Region squad.¢ Pollmiller - the team’s 5-foot-10 setter - returns

for her sophomore season after a record breaking freshman campaign. After leading the nation’s fresh-men with 11.94 assists per set, she was named the 2011 SEC Freshman of the Year, the AVCA’s All-South Region Freshman of the Year, an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, to the AVCA All-South Region Team and to the All-SEC Second Team. Pollmiller re-wrote the Tennessee record books, setting single-sea-son marks in total assists (1,480) and assists per set (11.94) during the 25-point rally scoring era. She was just the second Lady Vol to be named the league’s rookie of the year (Nikki Fowler, 2007). ¢ After tearing her ACL in last season’s preseason

practice, Jeter returns to the squad in 2012. The 5-foot-11 outside hitter earned 2011 Preseason All-SEC Team honors before being sidelined. In 2010, Jeter was named an AVCA All-American Honorable Men-tion, to the AVCA All-South Region Team and First Team All-SEC. ¢ Also returning for UT is senior Jasmine Brown,
