When it comes to beer, there’s a lot of talk about bubbles - and we don’t mean carbonation. What began in a garage has become one of Temecula’s most buzzed about breweries. Garage Brewing Co. & Pizzeria was launched in an old repair/tire shop south on Old Town Front Street in the fall of 2013 with a focus on brewing different styles including hoppy and bold, deep flavored brews. Now that bottles are trickling out, this brewery is poised to become one of the most talked-about breweries in the surrounding areas.

How? With our head brewer, an industry vet, and brewer who knew how to do things right, we’re making creative craft beer and more importantly, setting the standard for quality.

Our brewery is unique in that it was custom designed for us by a company in North America that is a pioneer in helping to develop best of class equipment for the craft brewing industry. And our brewing system wouldn’t be complete without putting thought into the storage of our beer. We had numerous large serving vessels manufactured to hold our finished beer, which is connected directly to our state of the art draft and tap system.

And producing quality beer doesn’t begin and end in the brew house. An often-overlooked factor in beer is the water. Most brewers believe that their local water source adds to the individuality of their product and while this may be true to a large extent, it overlooks

the importance of a beer style’s original water source when trying to replicate a specific style. Since our regional water is so hard, we feel that using it when producing a beer style originating from a region with “soft water” wouldn’t bring that beer style justice. That is why we utilize a reverse osmosis water system, which gives us flexibility and allows us to properly replicate and pay respect to brewing traditions from all over the world.

In addition, we threw in a fast-casual pizzeria concept into the mix at the same time because they’re two of the greatest things ever. Why? Because craft beer and pizza just makes the world feel right, okay, and wonderful in every way!

In 2014, we were awarded the Press Enterprise People Choice Award for Best Overall Hometown Restaurant and first runner-up in all of the Inland Empire. Our pizzas are custom-made, fast-fired in a high temperature stone hearth oven baked in 3 minutes- characterized by a light, thin flaky crust- with prices from $7-9. They are made-to-order using homemade dough and unlimited toppings. What’s cool is that you get to be individualistic. It’s all about what you want as you select the ingredients, and we cook it for you.

CLIMATE AND AVERAGE TEMPERATURESTemecula Valley Southern California Wine Country enjoys welcoming weather year-round, often characterized as a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers, and cool winters with relatively low rainfall. The valley’s general weather pattern is one of morning mist, warm midday sun, cooling afternoon ocean breezes and cooler nights. This tempo of nature lends a pleasing, natural rhythm to any schedule for the day. The dynamics of onshore-flow bring cool, gentle winds from the coast to Temecula Valley almost daily. The same dynamics also pull cool, moist, ocean air into the valley, most often in summer. These conditions combined tend to help keep summer daytime temperatures lower and air quality better than that of surrounding Southern California areas.

Temecula Valley Wine Country History

D uring much of the 19th century, Southern California provided most of the wine produced in the state. In the late 1960s and the 1970s, the first of Temecula Valley Southern

California Wine Country pioneers purchased acreage and planted their vineyards. In 1974, the founding of Callaway Winery marked the beginning of winemaking in the Temecula Valley. Now more than 40 wineries prosper in Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country. Many include restaurants, picnic areas, live concerts and special events.

HISTORYThe Temecula town site was established with arrival of the railroad in 1882; those railroad days endured into the 1930s. Today, more than a dozen historical properties dating as far back as the 1890s still exist and have been repurposed and reopened in Downtown Old Town Temecula. Just as the stagecoaches and railroad had done, new roads in the early 1900s helped open up Temecula to the outside world. The Inland Highway (the first, paved, two-lane, county road and ancestor of Highway 395) was built through Temecula Valley in 1915. Until 1949 it ran down Front Street where restau-rants, gas stations, and motels served those travelling through the Temecula Valley. Meanwhile, from the 1800s until the 1960s, cattle were the backbone of the Temecula Valley economy with great cattle drives from the backcountry. In 1905, cattle baron Walter Vail began buying vast acreage surrounding the town of Temecula. By 1947, the Vail Ranch included more than 87,500 acres. Walter's

son, Mahlon Vail managed the operation for many years and Temecula's Old West lifestyle flourished. In 1964, the Vails announced the sale of their ranch to a consortium of developers who had plans for a semi-urban, pastoral, master-planned community to be known as Rancho California. When the City of Temecula was incorporated in 1989, residents voted to retain the name of the original Native American village and eventual railroad town site.

The stunning beauty of the Temecula Valley and the legendary design work of Arthur Hills have come together at CrossCreek Golf Club. The result is a pristine Southern California course where great golf is played in a secluded natural environment.

Groves of age old oak and sycamore trees and rippling creeks provide intriguing scenery, which meshes with Hills’ challenging layout to create a haven for exceptional golf. The natural hazards demand careful shot making. The course features firm, hard to hold fairways, rough edged bunkers that are difficult to escape, and firm, fast greens that slope away for tricky putts. The par 71 layout runs 6,853 from the championship tees, combining length with the array of natural hazards. There are three shorter tee positions that make the course accessible to all levels of player.

CrossCreek is open for daily play at affordable rates and offers attractive membership packages for singles and families. They also offer Resident Card and Senior Card programs with outstanding benefits and discounts for local area residents and seniors over 60.

This course is a popular choice for golf outings, providing large and small groups with all the amenities they need. CrossCreek provides groups with a world class golf experience and an attitude of service to back it up. Whether it be a civic event for 100-plus golfers or a small group outing for a bunch of friends, they provide the finest course

and facilities for their clientele. Their large facility includes a 300 yard driving range and putting green, a Golf Shop with a full range of equip-ment and golf gear and a spacious clubhouse with the CrossCreek Grille, where groups can enjoy a delicious post golf meal.

As well, CrossCreek Golf Club offers a great venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions. With one-of-a-kind photography locations and a fully trained event staff, bride and grooms will enjoy a wedding day filled with everything they dreamed of. The golf course creates a classy and serene setting that will be unforgettable for them as well as their guests. Designed to be the ultimate in casually elegant weddings, CrossCreek can accommodate both intimate and large outdoor wed-dings and receptions at the most reasonable of prices.

CrossCreek’s own online tee time booking engine makes securing tee times fast and easy. By going through the course’s website, www.crosscreekgolfclub.com, they offer golfers the lowest rate anywhere with no processing fees.

Conveniently located only 5 minutes from I-15, there are no homes, no freeways and no noise to disrupt the serenity of your play. Cross-Creek Golf Club is truly one of the finest public layouts in Southern California and a joy to play.
