TEKLA CAMPUS IN BIM COURSESa Tekla Campus provides you a possibility to add a hands-on angle to your BIM related courses. With Tekla Structures BIM software the students can get a firm foundation on BIM tools and realize the importance of collaboration and the benefits of sharing project data right from the beginning.

The students can download a free student version of Tekla Structures from the Tekla Campus website. Thanks to the flexible new licensing, the software can be used both in and out of the classroom. The free student version is fully compatible with Tekla Structures Educational configuration. This means that the students can work on their course projects seamlessly whether they’re in the classroom or at home.

In addition to the software download, Tekla Campus includes learning materials that help the students get started with Tekla Structures. Further learning resources can be found in Tekla User Assistance, an online support material service for Tekla Structures users.

STUDENT CATEGORY IN TEKLA GLOBAL BIM AWARDSa Tekla Global BIM Awards competition showcases the models Tekla’s customers have created and used in their projects. The Tekla Global BIM Awards website includes examples of these impressive projects and their complex structures.

Tekla Global BIM Awards 2013 will have a new category for student projects. The student projects will be graded based on how well the participants have understood the idea of BIM, how well it is reflected in their model, and how versatile the model is. Why not have your students participate in the competition with their course work? Entering the competition will give them a challenge and valuable experience, plus a chance to get global publicity for their project!

Tekla Global BIM Awards student competition is now open and entries can be submitted until 30th November 2013.

LEARNING ABOUT PROJECT COLLABORATION - TEKLA BIMSIGHTa Tekla BIMsight is a tool for construction project collaboration. Participants in the construction workflow can combine their models, check for clashes, and share information using this tool. Tekla BIMsight is available for downloading for free on www.teklabimsight.com.

You can use Tekla BIMsight to introduce construction project collaboration to your students, and to give them a feeling of what it is like to work in a real-life construction project. A useful exercise could be for example to divide your students to different teams (such as a design detailing team, design coordination team and cost control & schedule team), give them different roles in the teams, and ask them to collaborate in an example construction project, using a real-life tool like Tekla BIMsight.

TEKLA CAMPUS FOR SELF STUDIESa If you don’t have courses that directly require the use of BIM tools, but your students would benefit from acquiring such skills, they can utilize Tekla Campus in their self studies. Tekla Campus has been designed to serve also individual students: to help them learn Tekla Structures and the basics of BIM on their own, or to complement their curriculum as supplemental studies.

Tekla User Assistance is a service that includes all support and learning material related to Tekla Structures. In this service, you can access the product guides as well as support articles on important topics, and several tutorials and shorter videos.
