TECHNICAL SKILLS DEVELOPED DURING AS

EQUIPMENT

The JVC camera was the most vital equipment used in our project as it was used to record our thriller.

We used the camera efficiently by learning how to use it through the preliminary and other tasks we did.

The camera functions enabled us to focus, zoom and film in different angles. With the help of the tripod, we were able to track and keep the camera steady whilst filming.

The flip and still camera were useful as they were a quick way to film and distribute our progress.

FinalCut Pro: This software was used to edit our footages by piecing each clip together so the opening and various camera angles would flow eg. The match cuts. We were also able to focus more clearly and distort anything which was not needed.

Soundtrack Pro: This programme was important for us as we were able to create and add sound which would correspond with the thriller. We were also able to adjust the volume of certain sounds in the film as well as the sounds we had created ourselves.

Throughout the year, I had learnt how to use these two programmes efficiently

SOFTWARE & EDITING

INTERNET The internet was a free and easy to access source

which enabled us to carry out research and present our on-going work creatively & successfully.

Google/YouTube/Search engines

We could uploads our videos onto YouTube with HQ.

Blogger

This was used to document, update and share with everyone what was happening with our project as we were constructing it. It was also a great way of communicating ideas with members of our group in case they had missed out on some days. Documenting our work was an important work of our coursework as it was a base where evidence of our work was stored.

INTERNET Prezi/ Slideshare

These online softwares were used to help present our work and ideas in creative and less boring ways. Using only plain texts & paragraph would bore the people reading our blog.

Photobucket

We used Photobucket to share/distribute pictures in a collage.

DaFont

This is a site where a variety of fonts can be downloaded for free. This was useful as it enabled us to search for fonts that weren’t common and make our thriller standout.

OUTCOME…

Using these technologies has allowed me to work creatively and express my work in different forms. All programmes were useful in their own way; but when combined together, they helped communicate our work and ideas meaningful and attractive to the readers.

Throughout this project, I have found that I have learnt and improved my ability to use these programmes well, although there is still a lot to be learnt about these programmes. I am looking to develop my knowledge and technical skills throughout the course of A2
