Visteon Supplies Instrument Cluster andAudio for New Renault MeganeRevealed to the public for the first time at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault’s popularhatch the fourth model since the launch of the original Megane in 1995 has been given acomprehensive technology update. Visteon supplies the digital instrument cluster and audio
for the new 2016 model which is available in showrooms in Europe, Asia, Russia and South America.
Aimed at the competitive compact segment which also includes the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, and Peugeot 308, theMegane has been one of Renault's most popular cars for more than 20 years.
Instrument Cluster
Based on the RSA 1540 cluster platform that also features on Renault's Espace, Kadjar and Scenic models, the new Megane’s fullydigital instrument cluster has a 7inch wide video graphics array (WVGA) color thinfilm transistor (TFT) display.
The cluster can be configured in a wide variety of ways and colors using the touch screen, and the driver can program it to displaynavigation directions, which driving mode is engaged, which gear the car is in, and how much fuel the engine is burning in realtime.
Incorporating many innovative solutions in lighting, software and SMD manufacturing, the cluster was program managed by teams inCergy, France, and Sofia, Bulgaria. The cluster is manufactured at Visteon’s plant in Namestovo, Slovakia.
Megane drivers can access key data through the speedometer's digital readout, including cruisecontrol and speed limiter indicator
Audio
Visteon also supplies the audio head unit on the lowend segment of the vehicle line, based on the shared R013 platform that covers awide range of RenaultNissan vehicles, as well as certain Daimler models.

The audio head unit comes in four different variants with and without DAB and covers 11 Renault vehicle lines, with productionvolumes reaching 205,000 units per year over the product lifecycle.
The DAB digital audio variant features USB and Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone applications and voice recognition. Other audiofeatures include audio streaming and browsing, eCall and multilanguage support.

Visteon’s engineering was led by CTC in Shanghai, China, with global support from India, Germany, UK and the U.S. The audio head unitis dualsourced for manufacturing at YFVE’s plant in Songjiang, China, and Palmela, Portugal for Renault’s European vehicles.
