TEAS Test Information for Nursing Students 

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Test is required as part of the admission process for 

the nursing program. You must take the TEAS test within 3 years of applying to the nursing 

program. All applications after March 1, 2016 will require the TEAS test.  

Once you have entered the code to start the test, there will be no refunds. This includes being 

asked to leave by one of the proctors for not following the below guidelines.  

Process: 

1. Go to the Testing Center, 2nd floor of the M building and schedule a test time (M202). 

2. Go to the cashier, 3rd floor of the S building and pay the $55 TEAS testing fee. 

3. Go to website:  www.atitesting.com  PRIOR to coming to take the test and CREATE AN 

ACCOUNT.  This information is located on the right‐hand side of the website under 

username and password.   

  Under school –look under S for Stark State College  

  Under anticipated date of graduation –select any date in the future. 

  Under employee code –leave this request blank 

4. Bring the receipt and your photo ID to the testing center 15 minutes before your 

scheduled test time. Late students will need to reschedule.  

a. No personal belongings are allowed on the desk.  

b. You cannot use a calculator but your proctor will give you scrap paper. You 

MUST return the paper after the test is completed. Bring your own pencils. 

c. You MUST have your cell phone OFF. If you look at your phone, you will be asked 

to leave the test and no refund will be given.  

d. You may not talk to other students during the test nor look at another computer 

screen. Academic dishonestly, or suspicion of such, is not tolerated.  

e. Remember that any question that is not answered on the test, will be marked 

wrong. It is better to guess than to leave a blank or not finish the test.  

f. You can take breaks ONLY between test sections.  

g. You will receive your results immediately after you complete the test. You will 

always have access under the “results” tab on www.atitesting.com to print your 

results. Please print a copy to attach to your nursing application.  

 

Remember the TEAS test is like the game show “Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?”, if you have 

not refreshed your memory on math, English and basic sciences, you may not do as well as you 

would like. You are given additional ranking points on your nursing application for higher Math 

and Science scores on the TEAS so it would benefit you to go get a nursing entrance test review 

book and review those sections. Review books are available for purchase in the Stark State 

Bookstore.   (see schedule on the back of this paper)

date you would like to test or you can call the testing center at 

ext. 4500.  

Note: If you have taken the TEAS at another location, you can call ATI and have them transfer the 

results to Stark State College. ATI charges a fee for this service.
