Application Date The application cycle for ADN 2017 will begin January 15th, 2017 and end April

15, 2017. No exceptions will be made. Applications will be available online only throughout the cycle.

LVN Program The Licensed Vocational Nursing program is a one year certification program starting

each January, and completing in November. The application process is from May to August each year. Upon successful completion of all requirements, students are eligible for the NCLEX-PN exam. Admission is a 3 step process. Applicants must 1) complete program prerequisites listed on the LVN webpage; 2) submit an application to Brazosport College; 3) complete TEAS exam during application cycle. Completed applications are reviewed and select applicants will be interviewed.

ADN Program The Associate Degree in Nursing is a 2 year program. Upon successful completion of

all college and program requirements, graduates receive an associate degree and are eligible for the NCLEX-RN exam. Program requirements and prerequisites are listed on the ADN web page and Catalogue. Catalogues are available online only.

TEAS exam Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) assesses applicant academic readiness for

nursing education programs. The TEAS has four assessment areas: Math, Science, English and Reading. Testing format is multiple-choice items with one correct answer. A competitive TEAS score is at or above the National Percentile Rank, which is listed on the applicant score sheet once the exam is finished. A score below this rank indicates the applicant is not ready for the nursing program however, this does not automatically deny program entrance as other factors are also evaluated. Areas of improvement will be evident and shown on printed score results. A Score Explanation and Interpretation is part of the score results. Only the first score per year is evaluated. Once registered for TEAS exam, applicants are strongly encouraged to register for “gmail” through Google’s website. Complete prior to testing date. To register, go to www.google.com, click “gmail” at top of the page and “sign up for gmail” in the appropriate box. Write down your user name and password for future recollection.

DO NOT CREATE A LOG IN TO THE TEAS EXAM. This will be done upon arrival for the exam.

TEAS study material is available in the Brazosport College bookstore and the college’s Library. Applicants that need to cancel or reschedule from their original registration date must wait until the last testing date.
