Dear players, parents and baseball fans,

Grand Slam Baseball is thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, India’s baseball players will be training in the United States this summer! This training camp represents the biggest step in the history of Indian baseball and puts the subcontinent on the map as a hotbed for professional and collegiate baseball talent. Players who participate will be eligible to play for Team India in their respective age groups and become a part of international All-Star teams and showcase competitions throughout the year. Camp is open to all nationalities and skill levels. The two-week camp at Kino Sports Complex and Centerfield Hitting in Tucson, Arizona will immediately be followed by the Little League World Series qualifier tournament in Taichung, Taiwan where players will represent India and its bright athletic future. The entire experience is once in a lifetime and will provide players with the unique perspective and range of academic, athletic and social skills needed to become global Indians and strong candidates for competitive universities and careers. Please complete the registration pack enclosed and attach required documents. We have set strict deadlines for registration to ensure that United States visas, flights and all arrangements at the camp are confirmed. Please keep in mind that final dates may change by one or two days to accommodate the tournament schedule. The total cost of the camp excluding tournaments, including transportation, coaching, all accommodation and meals, off-field activities, scouting reports and equipment over 19 days, is 3.6 lakh Rupees. We will offer the ensuing tournaments on this trip to players at no extra charge. The trip is the complete baseball experience and we have made every effort to ensure players will have the experience of a lifetime. Refer to the registration pack for the itinerary and cost breakdown. Indian baseball has grown immensely and this camp is a game changer. These players will be role models for a nation full of passionate players and fans, and their efforts will excite and inspire the entire baseball world. After the camp, Grand Slam Baseball is soon opening fields and academies across NCR for school programs, national youth leagues, international tournaments and more, and these first players in the United States will have the competitive edge they need to stand out on the global baseball stage. On behalf of my Co-Founder, Raunaq Sahni, and our entire international team of coaches and organizers, I sincerely want you be a part of Team India’s first baseball camp in the United States. Raunaq and I have dreamed of bringing baseball to India since we first played together as five-year olds in the New Delhi Little League. You can be assured that everyone at Grand Slam Baseball is totally committed to creating the ultimate baseball experience for young athletes in a safe, enriching environment. This camp is a launch pad to life-changing opportunities we are establishing through baseball! Are you ready to play ball? Sincerely, Jackson Golden Co-Founder, Grand Slam Baseball

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is the Indian Youth Team’s USA Training Camp? The camp is the first ever American baseball training course specifically designed to benefit Indian baseball players and form international caliber teams in each age division. Players who attend the camp will be eligible to represent India in official Little League tournaments and other youth baseball competitions worldwide. For the first time, Indian athletes can take advantage of the best coaches, training technology and facilities in the world to realize their full potential and develop into international level ballplayers. What are the dates of the camp? The camp, from drop-off to pickup at IGI Airport, runs from 10th to 28th June. Depending on enrollment numbers, some players will immediately follow up camp with tournaments in Taichung, Taiwan or Columbus, Ohio that each run from 29th June to 5th July. We will share more details about the tournaments once we determine enough players have registered. What age groups will the camp have programs for? The camp is open to boys & girls ages 9 to 18. Whenever possible, we will work on separate drills for junior and senior players to ensure all players are developing to their full potential. We will require a copy of your player’s birth certificate to provide to international tournament organizers in the future. Please see the required documents page in the information pack. Players between the ages of 12-14 as of August 1, 2016 will be eligible to participate in the Little League World Series qualifying tournament in Taichung, Taiwan immediately following the camp. My son/daughter has never played before. Can they join the camp? Absolutely! Our talented team of coaches is equipped to train every skill level, from current stars to future champions. This camp is a great way to practice before the New Delhi Little League and our year-round events in the National Capital Region!

12 | G r a n d S l a m B a s e b a l l

Do I have to be an Indian citizen to play? NO! The camp is open to boys and girls of all nationalities and skill levels. Most international tournaments only require local residents, rather than local citizens, to represent national teams. We encourage all expat and local players to join us and bring the same international culture we enjoy in Delhi’s baseball community to the United States! What is the daily routine like at camp? We have designed a routine that ensures players are pushing and challenging themselves to become better through drills and games, while also making time to rest, recuperate and explore this unique part of the Southwestern United States near California. Most days will see players waking up between 6 and 7 am before working on field drills and games at Kino Sports Complex. In the afternoons, players will work on hitting at Centerfield in a cooled indoor facility. Evenings are reserved for intrasquad games, games against American baseball teams, trips to museums and restaurants in the surrounding area and guest speakers. We have arranged for a number of fantastic activities for players, ranging from a real Major League Baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix to trips to local museums. How will we be traveling? Flights will be officially confirmed after registration, but we are planning to fly round-trip through Europe or Taiwan. Within the United States, private buses will be used. During all travel periods, attendance is taken before, during and after the journey and players are required to wear their Grand Slam Baseball t-shirts. Do I need to apply for a United States Visa? Grand Slam Baseball will apply for United States visas on behalf of players. In order to complete the application, players may be requested to attend a group interview at the US Embassy in Chanakyapuri to gain final approval. Please ensure you have originals or copies of the Required Documents and refer to the Visa Information section for more details and documents. Who is running the Indian Youth Team’s USA training camp? Grand Slam Baseball has arranged for a number of professional coaches and players from around the baseball world to bring Indian players into a whole new level of play. We are planning to have current NCAA coaches and former MLB players on hand to work with players on the field, discuss strategy and the mental components of baseball in a classroom setting, share ways to balance sports with academia and social life, and

13 | G r a n d S l a m B a s e b a l l

explain how to develop a balanced college application to use baseball as a way to study abroad. We will disclose the full list of speakers, coaches and organizers before the trip. Will we have time to see more than just the baseball field? We are excited to bring players live Major League Baseball action for the first time with a day-trip to Phoenix, Arizona to watch a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. In addition, players will be able to explore local museums, attractions and colleges in and around Tucson and Phoenix. We have developed a schedule that keeps players at peak performance with appropriate rest and relaxation. Plus, we have included activities that get players thinking about their future in baseball or how to use baseball to create life changing opportunities. These include college tours and guest speakers who will reveal how sports can help build a balanced academic profile. What sort of facilities will we be training at? Grand Slam Baseball is partnering with Arizona’s International Baseball Consortium, Kino Sports Complex and Centerfield Hitting Complex to deliver world-class, professional instruction to players. Kino Sports Complex is a large professional baseball complex used for youth, college and professional teams. During the camp, players have complete access to 2 full-size professional fields, training fields, the pro clubhouse, weight rooms and more. Centerfield Hitting Complex has been the premier hitting academy in the Southwestern United States since 2003. Centerfield has trained dozens of professional baseball and softball players since opening, and Grand Slam Baseball campers will have full access to their 30,000 sqft facility, batting cages, professional coaches, swing camera technology and other state of the art tools to design the perfect swing. Throughout the camp, players will get the complete professional experience and have the best resources in the baseball world available to them. Where will players stay? Players will stay in a 4-star hotel near Kino Sports Facility through the duration of the camp. Each room contains two queen size beds and will accommodate two players. Coaches and chaperones will be on the same floor as players throughout the camp. Breakfast is provided from 6am onwards and players will be transported by Grand Slam Baseball personnel to and from all training facilities and activities.

14 | G r a n d S l a m B a s e b a l l

What sort of food will be provided? We have ensured that special meal options will be available for players with dietary restrictions or allergies. Please indicate if your player requires special meals on the application form. Drinking water will be available at all times. All our meals have been planned to replenish and restore after hard work on the field. My player takes prescription medication and/or has allergies. Can he participate? Please indicate on the application form if your player takes prescription medication and list the name, dosage and frequency. Please also inform us if your player has allergies. Players are more than welcome to participate provided their medication or allergies do not prohibit physical activity. Drop-off and Pickup in New Delhi Players will meet outside the departures terminal at IGI Airport Terminal 3 a minimum of four hours before the scheduled departure time. Players will be dropped off at the arrivals terminal of IGI Airport Terminal 3 at the scheduled arrival time. We will have Grand Slam Baseball coaches and chaperones on either side of the security checkpoint during pickup and dropoff to ensure players are accounted for. We will announce exact times and dates once registration is complete. Can I bring electronics? Players are encouraged to be in the moment and focus on their development and experience abroad. For this reason, players will only have access to phones and laptops at the end of the day in their hotel rooms. Players found to be abusing phone access and losing sleep as a result may have their phones temporarily confiscated by coaches with the consent of parent. We will provide parents with a timetable for contacting players and coaches. Who will we be playing against? We have organized games against the Tucson CHAMPS Academy, Royals Camp and other local programs to give players experience against competitive international opponents. We will hold a number of scrimmages and games against these academies and conduct joint drills when possible.

15 | G r a n d S l a m B a s e b a l l

What are the tournaments after camp? This camp is designed to make players ready for international competition. We have been invited to two tournaments immediately after camp and many more throughout the year. These first two tournaments are the Little League World Series Asia Pacific Qualifier for 12-14 year olds in Taichung, Taiwan and the Continental Cup showcase in Columbus, Ohio. We will share more details about the tournaments as more players enroll. Do I need my own baseball gear? Players will be taken to a sporting goods store at the beginning of camp to procure any equipment they require. Please see the Packing List for a list of required and recommended equipment. What sort of drills will we work on? Coaches will bring players the most effective drills, each designed to benefit specific age groups and skill levels. A complete list of drills will be provided to players upon arriving for the camp. Please see the Drills section for a sample of the training we will provide. How will players be certified or recognized? Players will be certified by Grand Slam Baseball, Arizona’s International Baseball Consortium and Centerfield Hitting Complex to recognize their accomplishments and give them preference in Team India selection and overseas college applications. Those who compete in international tournaments following the camp will be certified by Little League International and other governing bodies depending on the tournament. Players in the camp will also be evaluated by college and professional talent scouts and given a detailed report to improve their game.
