Congratulations to the Organizing Committee members for your effort to make this installation a success.

I begin my message to you with a quotation from an Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore: I slept and dreamt that life was a joy, I woke and saw that life was service, I acted and behold, service was joy. The Toastmasters is about giving excellent service to members. That being so, this year I have chosen our theme: ‘The Joy of Serving’ What does it mean to serve our members with joy? The answer is found in the acronym GREAT: G Get members to go for their goals; R Relationship is the key to success; E Enthusiasm is contagious; A Action: You reap what you sow; T Trust is the result of listening to members. Earl Nightingale said this about service, “Our rewards in life will be in direct proportion to our service”. Yes, there is joy in serving and remember, as you give so shall you receive: Change, transformation and growth. I want to end my message to you with this epitaph of the sufi master, Jalaludin Rumi:

When we are dead, seek not our tomb in the earth, but find it in the hearts of men.
