Our target audience…• `after research on audiences related to our short film in terms of genre and age, we found

that the age range between 35 and 65 was our target audience. However as we are producing a short film I fell that there is no real specific audience for our short film. Short films are mainly viewed by professionals or people within the media industry, interested in that specific subject area. I fell that because the genre of our film being a Docu-drama, is quite unique and not well know for feature length films, therefore the audience would be very minimal and specific.

• However for part of our evaluation question we created a viewing evening, whereby a random audience watched our films and then asked us questions after watching each individual one. I felt that this was really useful and interesting, as it was helpful to see what other people think of our short film, whether they understood the narrative, and also what they think we should do differently.

• Within out short film we have followed the conventions of stereotypes throughout the film. An example of this is “the elderly”, I recently viewed a magazine from the times, that immediately struck my eye. It showed an image of a middle aged lady, standing next to an elderly lady. However the elderly lady was in fact the younger women. To make the lady look old they gave her a zimmberframe, glasses, wrinkles, a cardigan and daps. All of theses items and characteristics are what people today would label and elderly person. This stereotype has been created through the media in many ways, in particular this magazine that I found. This shows that we made a clear communication to our audience of the understanding of the characters, through the structure of our mis-en-scene, with the use of a cardigan, slippers, glasses and a pipe.
