Take Control of Your Emotions Insight Paper: Emotions The experiences we have as we go through life bring forth to us variety of feelings that we come to name as emotions. As future psychologists we will be working and dealing with diverse personalities, thus it is a must for us to be able to name seen and unseen emotions through behaviors presented outwardly. This skill is vital in helping clients see their own selves and create appropriate interventions. We are created unique. No two persons are alike but we have common responses to objects and situations that have special biological significance such as those that warn pain or other unpleasant consequences or signify the presence of food, water, salt, potential mates or rivals, or infants in need of care. We all feel anger, joy, sadness, fear, disgust among other things. But we respond and portray emotions differently. The movie Inside Out animatedly illustrate how we take control of our emotions and how this choice affect our behaviors. Like any other involuntary and automatic responses, emotions can be controlled and in some cases, it can be manipulated. You can either advantageously use it for success or it can haphazardly drag you towards your downfall. As we “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23

We are created unique. You can either advantageously use it for success or it can haphazardly drag you towards your downfall. As we age, we are expected to take charge of our emotions. It is one of the basics of social etiquette – we are to think first before we act. It is the primary purpose of putting our head above our heart.
