You Want Me? To do what? Evangelize?

Elba Maria Stell

To “evangelize” is such a scary word for most Catholics. What do we tell others about our faith

when we are asked? What is it that we believe and how can we put it into words? We

need to become what we believe in order to proclaim; we evangelize through our

witness and our words.

currently Tepeyac faculty member and has completed Tepeyac three-year Theology

Certificate Program in 2011.

Walking lightly on the Earth: The Spirit and Practice of Simple Living, Part II Fr. Bill Morton, SSC

Climate change is an invitation to take the command of Jesus seriously: love your neighbor as you love yourself. Since the consequences will more dramatically affect the poorest and most vulnerable around the world, how far am I willing to go to radi-cally alter my lifestyle to make it an expression of love for and solidarity with the poor? What level of joy and satisfaction might we discover if our individual and sha-red lives witnessed the authentic Gospel values? We will draw from the wisdom of our families, ancestors, communities and Catholic social teaching to guide our reflec-tions.
