Competency After having the course, students are expected to: a) comprehend the study of religion as a scientific discipline b) understand and be able to analyze the foundation religious studies c) have the ability to identify religious expressions from the various approaches; sociological, psychological, phenomenon, and cultural and philosophical analysis d) have a wide perspective on religious differences e) have the ability to tolerate difference among various religious belief f) have a strong belief of his/her own religion g) perform morally based religion in everyday life h) have strongly interest on interfaith dialogue 3. Description of Subject: This course discusses the necessity to comprehend religious studies as a discipline which works through various approaches of social sciences namely sociology, psychology, and phenomenology, cultural and philosophical analysis. While this subject is not focused on particular religious belief, the discipline required pluralistic inquiry to broaden knowledge on different religious belief, open up discussion within multicultural milieu and share spiritual experiences. This subject also requires experimental exposure within various team work i.e. visit to worship site other than his/her own religion’s, media monitoring on religious life, and mini project on promoting tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and peace building. 4.
