POLICE REPORT

The Savage Police Department responded to 220 incidents and issued 51 citations between Sept. 22 and Sept. 28. Some of those included:

BURGLARYSept. 22: A business in the 3900

block of 143rd Street reported that someone attempted to break into the building. Access was not gained and nothing was taken. There are no suspects.

DWISept. 27: A 21-year-old Minne-

apolis man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI after being pulled over for speeding on Highway 13 West near Quentin Avenue. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was registered at .06.

Sept. 27: A 25-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested for third-degree DWI (test refusal), fourth-de-gree DUI, driving without insurance and leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly hit a mailbox and a sign in the 15600 block of Allen Boulevard, then attempted to flee on foot. Police used a K-9 squad to track and locate the suspect.

Sept. 28: A 22-year-old Apple Valley woman was arrested for fourth-degree DWI, improper lane use and driving without proof of

insurance after being pulled over for poor driving conduct on Highway 101 Frontage Road near Zinran Avenue South. Her BAC was regis-tered at .19.

Sept. 28: A 21-year-old Shako-pee man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI after being pulled over for speeding on Highway 13 West near Dakota Avenue. His BAC was registered at .15.

FRAUDSept. 23: A man from Savage

reported that someone used his credit card information to make more than $1,000 in purchases in the state of Virginia. The case is under investigation.

Sept. 25: A business in Savage reported that someone got a hold of some of their checks and that the suspect or suspects are using them as part of a “secret shopper” scam. The case is under investigation.

MISCHIEFSept. 27: A Pr ior Lake man

reported that two juveniles threw an apple at his vehicle while he was driving on Allen Boulevard near 158th Street.

NARCOTICSSept. 22: A 23-year-old Burns-

ville man was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in

a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia after being pulled over for speeding on Highway 13 South near Zinran Avenue South.

PROPERTY DAMAGESept. 24: Two students at Prior

Lake High School, 7575 150th Street, reported that their respective vehicles were keyed while parked in the school’s lot. There are no suspects.

Sept. 28: A man from the 5000 block of South Park Drive reported that someone dug up his yard over-night. There are no suspects.

STOLEN VEHICLESept. 25: A Jordan woman re-

ported that her 2000 Honda Civic was stolen after she left it parked outside a business in the 6100 block of Egan Drive overnight. The vehicle was recovered in St. Paul on Sept. 29, though it had been stripped for parts. The case is under investigation.

WARRANTSSept. 28: A 30-year-old woman

from Savage was arrested on an outstanding Washington County warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge after she came to the Savage Police Department, 6000 McColl Drive, to retrieve property.

FIRE CALLS

Sept. 22At 6:24 p.m., firefighters were

called to the 14100 block of Nat-chez Avenue for a report of smoke in a home. It was a false alarm due to burnt food. The Engine 11 crew ventilated the home.

Sept. 23At 7:36 a.m., firefighters were

called to Highway 13 and Egan Drive for a report of a car leaking gas. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a mechanical problem, not a fuel leak. All units cleared the scene.

At 10:49 a.m., firefighters were called to Lynn Avenue and McColl Drive for a pick-up truck versus motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries. Police and

paramedics were on the scene, and all fire units were canceled upon arrival.

Sept. 25At 9:44 p.m., firefighters were

called to the 14100 block of Vir-ginia Avenue for a report of a gas grill on fire at an apartment com-plex. Upon arrival, the tenant had extinguished the fire with a fire ex-tinguisher. A firefighter investigated and canceled all responding units.

At 10:23 p.m., firefighters were called to the 14300 block of Utica Avenue for a carbon monoxide alarm going off in a home. The En-gine 11 crew monitored the home and found no carbon monoxide readings. Firefighters advised the

homeowner to replace the detec-tor’s batteries and/or replace the detector itself.

Sept. 27At 1:43 p.m., firefighters were

called to Highway 13 and Eagle Creek Parkway for a report of a two car crash with injuries. Firefighters assisted Allina and police with patient care. All three patients were transported to hospitals.

Sept. 28At 8:37 p.m., firefighters were

called to Highway 13 and Highway 101 for a single vehicle crash with injuries. The Engine 11 crew as-sisted with patient care and general clean-up. Allina transported one patient to a hospital.

DISTRICT COURT

The following are Scott County District Court felony and gross-misdemeanor dispositions. Defen-dants either pleaded guilty or were found guilty by the court unless otherwise indicated.

Brenda Jean Johnson, 49, Edina, f if th-degree possession of marijuana, a felony. Five years’ probation, 180 days in jail, ran-dom tests, provide DNA sample, $260 in fines/fees.

Chautaux Starre McMullen, 41, Minneapolis, check forgery, a felony. Five years’ probation, 80 hours of community service, provide DNA sample, restitution, $160 in fines.

Soeun Sinn Van, 30, Farib-ault, fifth-degree possession of marijuana, a felony. Adjudication stayed: Three years’ probation, random tests, $275 in fines/fees.

Eric Dwayne Winborn, 22, Bloomington, fif th-degree pos-session of marijuana, a felony. Adjudication stayed: Three years’ probation, random tests, $400 in fines/fees.

Steven Andrew Pardun, 22, Hastings, second-degree burglary of dwelling, a felony. Ten years’ probation, 90 days in jail, follow recommendations of evaluation, random tests, no contact with victim(s), provide DNA sample, $160 in fines/fees.

Brett Curtis Ramsbacher, 32, Columbia Heights, f if th-degree possession of marijuana, a felony. Adjudication stayed: Three years’ probation, seven days in jail, 80 hours of community service, follow recommendations of evaluation, random tests, $485 in fines fees.

James John Strand, 47, Sav-age, third-degree driving while intoxicated (DWI), a gross-mis-demeanor. Two years’ probation, two days in jail, 28 days under electronic home-monitoring, $460 in fines/fees.

Dustin Alan Edsill, 38, Water-loo, Iowa, violation of order for pro-tection, a felony. Serve two years in prison, $160 in fines/fees.

Larry Morton Olson, 75, Lakev-ille, DWI, a gross-misdemeanor. Three years’ probation, four days in jail, follow recommendations of evaluation, abstain from alcohol, random tests, $285 in fines/fees.

Nathan Joseph Campbell, 34, Lakeville, DWI, a gross-misde-meanor. Two years’ probation, five days in jail, 25 days under elec-tronic home-monitoring, follow recommendations of evaluation, $610 in fines/fees.

The Savage Fire Depart-ment will open the O’Connell Fire Station to the public during an Open House and Fire Safety Expo from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The free family event will include free food and bever-ages, fire truck rides, fire

hose spray, educational ac-tivities and demonstrations, door prizes and opportuni-ties to try on fire gear.

The open house is held each year during Fire Pre-vention Week, which takes place this year from Oct. 5-11. This year’s Fire Preven-

tion Week theme is “Work-ing Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month!”
