MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
The Energy and Resources Institute
Background
Sustainable Energy is the form of energy obtained from non-exhaustible resources, such that the provision of this form
of energy serves the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
Technologies that promote sustainable energy include renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectricity, solar
energy, wind energy, wave power, geothermal energy, bioenergy, tidal power and also technologies designed to
improve energy efficiency.
It is commonly agreed today that the depletion of fossil fuels and climate change concerns coupled with the recent high
oil prices and increasing government support are driving forces for initiating & implementing a shift towards
sustainable energy practices the world over.
Against this background, TERI is pleased to announce the 3 days Management Development Programme on
Sustainable Energy: Towards a Cleaner and Greener Tomorrow from 8th – 10th October 2015 at Suzlon Excellence
Academy, Suzlon One Earth Campus, Hadapsar, Pune, Maharashtra.
Objectives
This three days intensive course seeks to provide in-depth knowledge about existing and emerging renewable energy
technologies, and energy conservation and efficiency improving techniques. The programme is also designed to provide
a comprehensive understanding of the technical, policy-related, and economic aspects of different sustainable energy
options. The course shall be instrumental in equipping the participants with the knowledge and understanding required
to execute their responsibilities in the sector in an integrated manner.
