needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their needs.• It’s doing what we’re

currently doing, but in a better way through better choices.

NO!• It is not a “To Do” item on a

list. • It is not asking someone to

do something new. (That logic is inherently not sustainable.)• It is not about saving the

Shawnee Green Team• Made up of City employees committed to promoting a

more sustainable and environmentally-friendly organization, community and region.• PS-57, Sustainable Shawnee, was adopted by the

Council on February 11, 2008 • Identify targets to comply with the U.S. Council of

Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement that was signed by Mayor Meyers on July 17, 2007.

Green Team Mission Statement

The mission of the Shawnee Green Team is to bring awareness to the community and support sustainable initiatives to improve the quality of our environment and to review and improve business practices in order to conduct City business in a more environmentally friendly manner.
