Lendlease, previously Abigroup – Injury Management Advisor 2011-Current

In my current position as Injury Management Advisor for Lendlease, I am responsible for overseeing all Lendlease businesses across Western Australia and Tasmania. The primary objective of this role is to provide care, support, advice and overall management of the safe and durable return to work of Lendlease employees who have suffered a related injury or illness as well as non-work related injuries and illnesses. My duties are:

Early intervention with appropriate, adequate and timely services based on assessed needs.

Liaise with and organise Doctors and specialised appointments for the injured worker.

Participate in case conferences providing strategic advice and solutions on rehabilitation and return to work.

Manage claim/wages payments ensuring they are processed on time, calculated correctly and entitlements received in line with payroll run.

Conduct regular site visits to support injured workers, undertake relevant training and information sessions and monitor return to work progress.

Attend regular on site toolbox talks and pre start meetings. Provide regular updates to the business on relevant issues and red flags that may

be present on claims or trends. Administer and maintain all claim information on Ascentor’s Injury Management

reporting system.

Key Achievement

Over the past 12 months I have been working closely Mates in Construction to partner with Lendlease to raise awareness on Mental Health, Suicide and training in prevention of suicide specifically within the construction industry.

This has been creating a much more resilient building and construction workforce.

BAE Systems Australia - Health Co-Ordinator & Injury Management Consultant2008-2010

I provided support for the injured worker from date of injury to their return to work.

Managing over 40 claims per year in accordance with the regulation of the Workers Compensation Act 1981. Duties included:

Regular communication with the injured worker, Doctors, specialists and the insurance company.

Design and collate the return to work documents. Complete all documents required for a workers compensation claim. Organise and Attend Case Conferences with insurance company.

Assisted the Safety, Health and Environment Manager. Daily data entry of updating workers compensation files and claim action plans. Taking of minutes for Safety Meetings and Tool Box Meetings. Organising information for Safety Manager for daily Pre Start Meetings. Assisted First Aid Officer when injuries occurred. Managed and reviewed stock take for First Aid Hut. Organised internal physiotherapy treatment for injured workers and non-injured

(preventative care) workers. Organised hearing, eye and ergonomic testing for all BAE Employees.

Aurenda - Injury Management Consultant 2007-2008

My position here was to co-ordinate injury management services to various clients from Aged Care facilities, mining companies and local private businesses, managing over 90 claims and assisting them in the transition from injury to return to work. My responsibilities were:

companies Devising correspondence to all parties involved Arranged case conference meetings with insurance companies Providing quarterly updates/reports to my Manager on current claims

I began as a receptionist and then after 12 months I was promoted to Assessor Coordinator. My duties involved:
