Human beings always seek to understand their surroundings and interpret life by that understanding. Superstition is just one more method of understanding life albeit illogical at times.

Superstitions primarily represent the underlying inherent fear of mankind, caused by the uncertainties of this world.

In a way, it is a sign of acceptance of our ignorance and limitations of our power.

Some Examples of Bad Superstitions

Black Cats 

Black cats have long been believed to be a supernatural omen since the witch hunts of the middle ages when cats were thought to be connected to evil. Since then, it is considered bad luck if a black cat crosses your path.

Broken Mirrors 

An ancient myth our ancestors believed was that the image in a mirror is our actual soul.

A broken mirror represented the soul being astray from your body.

Owls 

If an owl looks in your window or if you seeing one in the daylight bad luck and death will bestow you.

Sparrows 

Sparrows are thought to carry the souls of the dead and it is believed to bring bad luck if you kill one.

Unlucky Number #13 

The fear of the number 13 is still common today, and avoided in many different ways. Some buildings still do not have an official 13th floor and many people avoid driving or going anywhere on Friday the 13th.

No matter how sophisticated our society becomes, superstitions persist in having an impact on success or failure.

We normally associate the idea of superstition with the supernatural.

the stories supporting these ideas are fascinating and get passed from person to another.

HOW TO GET RID OF SUPERSTITIONS It is essential for us to examine our

approach as rationally as possible to change the things that may be contributing to our failures.

It is how we interact with others and apply our inspirations which will carry us forward to beneficial results.

If you choose not to believe, superstition has no weapon against you except for the fear.

Through classic conditioning ie. instead of hesitating just do it,your mind will realize that nothing will happen.
