July 12, 1919.
Below is given the federal Reserve Board’ s regular weekly statement of total debits to deposit account, reported through, the Federal Reserve banks by about 150 of the country's more important clearing lionsjs- Transactions cover the
weekly periods ending Wednesday July 2 and 9, 1919-
July 4 being a legal holiday, the week vndcr review contained only five business days.which accounts for the grce.tly reduced aggregate debits to both individual and to bonk account. Debits to individual account, however, fell off mors than the short week alone would account for, as the average daily total was
nearly U per cent less than the exceptionally high figure of the week oefore. Daily averages were lower also in all of the principal centers, except Dallas
and San Francisco.
Average daily debits to bank account were largo-r than the week before for
the aggregate of all reporting centers and for most of the larger citics sthcp.gh New york, Cleveland, Baltimore and Detroit report larger figures under this nead
than the week before.
The statement closes with a recapitulation giving comparative figures by reserve districts of 153 centers reporting complete data for both weeks. Figures for reporting clearing houses by Federal Reserve districts arc as follows;
