TREASURE ISLAND YOUTH CHORUS It may only be the start of summer, but we’re already making plans for this year’s Christmas production of Treasure Island, which will be performed in The North Wall Arts Centre this winter. Like last year’s production of The Wind in the Willows, the show will feature a youth chorus, made up of twelve of our Drama Clubbers, from the 8-10s and 11-13s groups.

Although there will be lots of information closer to the time, we know that it’s useful to be aware of what’s going on well in advance, so we thought we’d go over the process briefly now.

In September, we’ll host an information night for all interested parents to attend, where we’ll explain the process of auditions, rehearsals, chaparones and how being in the show affects school hours.

After the information night, if your child wants to audition (and you agree with them!), then just email Maddy to apply for an audition slot. We’ll hold the auditions for the youth chorus on a weekend, and run the auditions in a group format, much like one of our Holiday Workshops. They won’t need to prepare any pieces; the only thing they must be ready to do is sing.

We’ll send out far more detailed information in the Autumn term of course, but it’s never to early to start planning for future stardom!
