SUMMER 2015
“All the world’s a stage”six weeks of workshops across the summer holidays - if you can’t wait for the Autumn term, why not come along and Put on a Play in a Week? There’s the chance to perform on our professional stage, Alice workshops with a trip to the show thrown in, and even a performance inside Oxford’s Ashmolean museum - it’s going to be a scorcher!Maddy
It’s a very busy time in the Creation world at the moment as we gear up for a jampacked season of shows and workshops. This summer, we’re bringing a promenade performance of As You Like It to the grounds of Lady Margaret Hall. And there’ll even be a Drama Club party - on 3 August all Drama Clubbers go free, the leaders will come along to say hi, and we’ll even lay on some ice lollies! If you can’t make that date, there’s the Family Show
on the Bank Holiday Monday - again kids go free, up to three with each adult, so there’s no excuse not to catch our romantic comedy this summer. As if Shakespeare wasn’t enough, we also have a production of Alice, in the grounds of St. Hugh’s College - with music and puppets, we’ll be adding some Creation magic to Carroll’s classic. Alice is being created with the ethos of our Christmas shows – to make a show that will be great fun for families with children of all ages. We’re thrilled to be pitching up at St Hugh’s for the first time, and would love you to join us.Then, at Christmas, we’re setting sail to Treasure Island, once again at The North Wall. It may be a long way off, but we’ve already been listening to sea shantys to get us in the mood.In the Education world, we have

RENEWALS Week 10 22-26 JuneUnless you notify us in writing by email by Sunday 21 June that you do not want to renew for next term, we’ll roll over your current place and automatically take payment with the details we have stored. If we have any issues processing payments (e.g. out of date cards) we will get in touch.
AUTUMN TERM: 14 September-12 DecemberAutumn term starts Monday 14 September and runs until the week of final shows, from Monday 7 to Saturday 12 December. We’ll have a week off at half term (26 - 31 October), where you can always join a Holiday Workshop if you’re missing Creation too much!
TREASURE ISLAND YOUTH CHORUS It may only be the start of summer, but we’re already making plans for this year’s Christmas production of Treasure Island, which will be performed in The North Wall Arts Centre this winter. Like last year’s production of The Wind in the Willows, the show will feature a youth chorus, made up of twelve of our Drama Clubbers, from the 8-10s and 11-13s groups.
Although there will be lots of information closer to the time, we know that it’s useful to be aware of what’s going on well in advance, so we thought we’d go over the process briefly now.
In September, we’ll host an information night for all interested parents to attend, where we’ll explain the process of auditions, rehearsals, chaparones and how being in the show affects school hours.
After the information night, if your child wants to audition (and you agree with them!), then just email Maddy to apply for an audition slot. We’ll hold the auditions for the youth chorus on a weekend, and run the auditions in a group format, much like one of our Holiday Workshops. They won’t need to prepare any pieces; the only thing they must be ready to do is sing.
We’ll send out far more detailed information in the Autumn term of course, but it’s never to early to start planning for future stardom!
