AIESEC Egypt Non-corporate

Exchange Projects

Why X-Projects?

As a youth-run organization we strive for making a difference, breaking stereotypes and

bridging gaps. The AIESEC message works on achieving all of that but how do we make the

process more efficient to deliver quality results?

We divide our labour, cluster our target and the end result is... Exchange projects!

69

Page 72: Summer Internships Booklet 2011

Exchange projects provide:

Concrete products to NGOs and all other stakeholders

Direction to the members

A qualitative increase in output

A more directed analysis and market segmentation

What is our relevance to the market?

The Egyptian market is now more open to understanding the potential of youth. The idea of

volunteerism has become popular over the years and the NGO sector is expanding, thus, they

are in need of an increased amount of educated labour force.

AIESEC provides:

Organizational development

Selected foreign talent

Enhanced image and diversity

The area where the workshops will

take place, is called "Tricity", because

Sopot. It is situated at the sea- all

three cities have access to it.

Although the workshops are the main

part of the project, we also want to put

focus on the meetings with children.

Those meetings will not be formal and

with strict agenda- instead, we want

them to be entertaining for both the

children and trainees. During the

period of the workshops, winter

holidays in our region take place.

Therefore, as a part of the project, the

trainees will probabbly go to one of the

winter camps for children.

As for the saturday work- it all

depends on the tainees' will. It is

possible to organise classes with the

NGOs or do other project-related

activities, but if the trainees decide

that they want to have a free time, we

AIESEC SUMMER INTERNSHIP EXAMPLES

148

Page 151: Summer Internships Booklet 2011

will adjust to it.

Our committee is very opened to

trainees and we try to organise as

many events for them, as possible-

such as for exampne paintball games

or sleigh rides.

Trainees will also attend a course in

conducting workshops and will work

on the agenda in the week between

17th and 24th of January.

We intend to provide all the necessary

facilities and materials, but it is

possible (although not probabble) that

a situation will occur, that the trainees

would have to pay for some things on

their own.
