• Recipients of financial aid grants and loans who drop credits or withdraw may be required to return all or a portion of awarded Title IV funds.
Students who are enrolled but choose not to attend must officially withdraw from the university. To officially withdraw, please go to the Student Services Office. Any funds remaining, after paying university expenses, will be available to students through the Business Office. Prior term charges due to the University and non-institutional charges (i.e. Health Center charges, Degree fees, etc.) cannot be taken from a student’s Financial Aid and/or Scholarship awards, therefore a balance may still be due to the University after a Financial Aid Refund is issued to a student. Direct Deposit of Financial Aid to a student’s checking account is available. To sign up for this service log on to my.nmsu.edu and click on the direct link under student financial aid to securely input your bank account information. Campus SaVE Act NMSU does not tolerate any sexual violence to include partner violence which can be defined as any physical, sexual, or psychological harm against an individual by a current or former partner or spouse of the individual. Such sexual violence covers domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking. The Campus SaVE Act compliments and is a companion to Title IX and assists with the response to and prevention of sexual violence in higher education. The Act provides a framework for educational institutions to address incidents of sexual violence occurring on-campus, on public property within and adjacent to campus, and at non-campus properties like off-campus student organization housing, campus sponsored events and remote classrooms. All new students, including Adult Education students, Dual Credit high school students, and non-degree students must participate in training on the Campus SaVE Act. All employees will receive the President’s policy on an annual basis. Failure to comply with the training will result in disenrollment from courses or the inability to register for courses and participate on the NMSU campuses. Training will be provided for students at the mandatory New Student Orientation, as well as an online training.
The complete text of this policy will be maintained on the OIE website: http://eeo.nmsu.edu/

Fall 2020 Final Exam Schedule Below is the final exam schedule for the Fall 2020 semester. All regular M/W and T/R classes will adhere to the exam schedule. Exams will be held in the room the course has met in throughout the semester. The instructor may or may not decide to require a final exam, however, the class must meet. For all other classes, final exams will be held during the regular class period on the last day of class. Weekend classes will meet as usual and are not required to adhere to the Exam Week Schedule. Their final exams will be held during the regular class period on the last day of class. Students with exam schedule conflicts must contact instructors before October 14, 2020. Any student having more than three (3) exams in any one day should contact the instructor of the last exam listed and ask for an alternate arrangement for that exam. Faculty are not allowed to hold examinations lasting more than one class period during the last week of regular class. In addition, faculty only can reschedule exams outside of the regularly scheduled exam period with the unanimous consent of the students and with permission of the Chief Academic Officer/Provost. Students who feel that their rights have been violated should contact the Vice President for Student Services. Exam Day (across) Exam Time (down)

Additional Course Information
Class Cancellations NMSU Carlsbad reserves the right to cancel any course. Decisions regarding the cancellation of specific classes may be made as early as the close of the registration period, or as late as the close of the first day of class. Since the major determining factor for cancellations is enrollment, students are strongly encouraged to register early in the registration period. Schedule Modification/Updates Information in the Summer/Fall 2020 Class Schedule is accurate at press time. If or when changes are made (cancellations, adds, time-date changes, etc.), the changes can be viewed by checking our website at https://accounts.nmsu.edu/catalog/ . Students are urged to check the ONLINE SCHEDULE and talk with an academic advisor before registering. It is understood that any item in this publication is subject to modification at any time by proper administrative procedure.

To assist in understanding our schedule, we are providing a brief explanation of some of the content. For additional information regarding prerequisites, consent of instructor, S/U grading, etc., please see the course description in our most recent catalog. Dual credit classes are classes offered only to Early College High School and High School Dual Credit students. Mirror classes are classes, which are offered as dual credit and therefore must be offered to New Mexico State University-Carlsbad students. Mirror classes will only be taught should there be sufficient enrollment to constitute a full class; at that time an instructor and day/time will be assigned. This schedule is only current at the moment it is printed and becomes out-of-date as soon as a class is added or canceled. For up to the minute class schedule information, please go to https://accounts.nmsu.edu/catalog/ . Please note that while page 11 of this schedule does list specific course fees associated with certain courses, it may not be all inclusive as this scheduled is published in advance of the actual courses beginning. Note: The federal government now says that for an online student to receive federal aid, that student must complete an assignment or discussion to be considered “attending.” The assignment could be as simple as a question.
