Higher Diploma (NHD). Admission to these one-year programmes (full time) may be sub-

ject to additional minimum admission requirements, which may include a minimum pass

mark in the third year of the National Diploma programme. Most BTech and NHD pro-

grammes are also offered part time over two years.

Advanced qualifications (Masters degree and Doctorate in Technology) may be obtained

through full-time or part-time study.

Need help in deciding on a career?

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology offers the following Student Counselling

services to prospective students:

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSIONS/WORKSHOPS

• This service is offered to Grade 11 and 12 learners as well as recent school leavers.

• The career counselling process includes an assessment (of e.g.of the interests, val-

ues and personality of the client), career decision-making and a discussion of vari-

ous career options.

• At Bellville campus individual career counselling sessions are available.

• At Cape Town campus career counselling is in the form of a one-day workshop and

up to six participants can be accommodated.

COURSE INFORMATION SESSIONS

• Individual sessions with prospective students (free of charge at both campuses)

provide information about all the courses offered by the University.

• These one hour sessions do not include an assessment. The client should bring

along any previous assessment results or recommendations (if by another profes-

sional/service) in order to gain the most benefit from the sessions.
