Students set for Northern Ballet winter Waltzer
Leeds Metropolitan University dance students are set to undertake a
performance to be held at the home of Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance
Theatre.
The event, entitled Waltzer, will get underway at 4pm on Tuesday 18

public and will premiere first and second year BA (Hons) Dance students

Course Leader Rachel Krische, commented: Our students have worked
exceptionally hard in preparation for the performance. This is the first event
the University has done of its kind and we are thrilled our students will get the
opportunity to experience working in a professional environment.
Second year students have been working with choreographer and
international dance artist, Anna Williams, to create two new original pieces of
work which will be premiered at the event.
Additionally, Rachel and Senior Lecturer Beth Cassani have put together a
collage out of first year student mini choreographies, created during their first
semester at Leeds Met. For this work there will also be an original sound
score, produced in collaboration with Rees Archibald and Kingsley Ash,
Senior Lecturers in the School of Film, Music and Performing Arts.
