SO WHAT DID HE DO???

* He was responsible for the reformation in England and founded the Church of England.

* He promoted Parliamentary Government by extending representation and expanding the privileges of both houses.

* He enhanced the standing of the Monarchy and created a new sense of National identity.

* He was the first English Monarch to authorize the translation of the Bible into English.

DEATH

AT age 22 he caught small pox

had his first attack of malaria.

This disease plagued him for

the rest of his life.

At age 54 He could hardly

walk and was carried

everywhere by sedan chair.

He spent the last 8 days of his

life in bed. He was too weak to

lift a glass of water to drink.

He died amid the horrendous

stench of his bursting leg

ulcers.
