Foursquare WalletFor Foursquare users who want to make quick payments using the app, Foursquare Wallet is a digital wallet that will allow users to easily make and track purchases while earning reward points. Unlike Square Wallet, this payment system includes check splitting options and a tip calculator. Because we believe that people want to pay as quickly and easily as possible.

Scenarios Method:

We ideated possible scenarios and came up with three user journeys:

Payment OptionsQuick and simple payment processFacilitates easier payments with large groups

Transaction HistoryDetailed history of locations and purchases

Reward UsersAbility to earn, redeem and review rewards

Opportunities Identified:Payment options were the biggest problem for our target user base.

Design IterationsFirst Iteration

Method:We sketched our prototype using the Paper App before we conducted usability tests with an Axure digital prototype.

Findings:•The buttons (tip, split, and pay) confused users•Payment pending screen was unclear•Using a dollar sign symbol for pay was not explicit

Opportunities Identified:•Cut down on the number of options users have on a single screen•Make action buttons more visible

Second Iteration | Prototype TestingMethod:

We had 7 users test an Axure prototype and gave them the task of splitting their check, selecting tip, and then completing the payment. We made simple changes after each interview.

Findings:• Tip choices were being typed instead of clicked• Pay button wasn’t intuitive • Check splitting options had to be simplified• Check overview screen is unclear • Payments pending screen confused all 7 users

Opportunities identified:•Make it more evident that tip choices can

be selected•Move pay button to a more central location•Redesign check splitting screen
