One day, the Trojan Prince, Paris, was asked to judge which of the three Olympian goddesses were the most beautiful. Hera and Athena had hoped to bribe him with power and victory in battle, but Aphrodite offered him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world, so he chose her. Hera and Athena were against him and their argument began the Trojan War, but Aphrodite remained loyal to him throughout the war.
